I hired Northern Virginia Painters to paint the walls and ceiling in our garage and I am very happy with the outcome. The drywall in the garage had not been painted in 25+ years and there were numerous gouges, dings and holes that needed to be patched and repaired. There were also sizable holes in the ceiling from removing/relocating the support rails for the garage doors.The owner Derrick met with me at my house to review the work needed and he provided a very competitive bid for the job. His crew of 4 painters showed up on time on the appointed day and they worked tirelessly throughout the day, despite the cold temperatures in the garage. They painted my 20ft by 20ft unfinished garage in an amazing dark gray with an eggshell sheen in a single day, including all prep work, during one of the coldest weeks in December. Derrick was upfront that the eggshell sheen could show more imperfections than a flat paint, but with the thorough prep work they made the walls and ceiling as smooth as possible.Communication was top-notch as well. Derrick provided an in-house assessment of drywall and insulation replacement in our garage and den along with wall repairs, sanding, priming and painting. He provided a reasonable estimate for the work and a schedule for its completion.The crew arrived on time as scheduled and did an excellent job prepping both spaces. The crew was diligent and hard working. They treated our house with great care. Each day they were punctual, courteous, friendly and very thorough. They cleaned up the work areas each day and at the end of the project. They also provided left over paint cans for future touch ups. In fact, they returned a few days later for touch up repairs after we installed a new garage door and floor along with curtains and bookcases in the den.Owner Derrick was very hands-on, visibly on-site and was involved in all aspects of the project. He showed up at the beginning to introduce the crew and to walk them and us through the project details. He stopped by later in the day to check on progress and address any concerns. Derrick also showed up at the end of the project to do a walk-through to make sure everything is excellent. He went above and beyond to make sure the job is done the way you want it. The communication throughout the project was excellent. They listened to my desires for color schemes (going for a darker/moodier color drenching) and made recommendations about paint types that would work the best.
