About 10 months ago, I left my first review for Dr. Hussein Dhayni after completing my implant treatment. I was extremely happy with the entire experience and the quality of his work. Now, almost a year later, I had another experience that made me appreciate even more the kind of dentist I found.Recently, I noticed a slight movement in the restoration on my implant and contacted the office. They were able to get me in very quickly, and he even called me personally to offer an earlier appointment in case it was more convenient for me.He had actually warned me from the beginning that, with my lifestyle, something like this could eventually happen. I do heavy strength training and tend to clench my jaw extremely hard, especially during workouts. I also put a lot of daily chewing pressure on my teeth because I eat a lot, including meat and other firm foods. He explained that all of this constant mechanical stress could cause the restoration to loosen over time. He also recommended a night guard and gave me advice on reducing the pressure on my teeth and jaw. So when I eventually noticed some movement, I did not consider it a problem with the original work - it was a risk he had already explained to me.At the appointment, Dr. Dhayni carefully checked everything, removed the restoration, thoroughly cleaned the area, re-secured everything, and made sure it was stable again. Everything was taken care of under his warranty, completely free of charge.But the visit went beyond just taking care of the implant restoration. He also did a CBCT scan and found a deep crack in another tooth on the opposite side. This had nothing to do with the implant or its warranty, but he did the scan at no charge as well. He showed me what he found, explained that the tooth could eventually fracture further, and recommended that I consider a crown. He also gave me a treatment plan to review. There was absolutely no pressure to make a decision right away - he simply explained what he saw, the risks, his recommendation, and gave me the information I needed to decide for myself.That is something I have always appreciated about him. He is very straightforward. If he sees a problem, he tells you. If there is a risk, he explains it. If there are options, he explains those too. Nothing feels hidden and nothing feels pushed on you.It is one thing to be happy with a dentist when everything goes perfectly. I think you learn even more about a doctor when something needs attention months later. Almost a year after my original treatment, there were no excuses, no arguments, and no unexpected bill. He simply got me in quickly and took care of everything.I trusted him after my original treatment, and after this experience I trust him even more. He is an excellent dentist, extremely skilled at what he does, and most importantly to me, he genuinely stands behind his work and takes care of his patients.I’m very glad I found Dr. Dhayni and Balboa Dentistry. For me, they remain my first choice in San Diego, and I would recommend him without hesitation.Thank you, Dr. Dhayni, for your work, your honesty, and the way you take care of your patients. I had an amazing experience at Balboa Dentistry with Dr. Dhayni and the wonderful staff, Alex and Atoosa. I had crowns, implants, and gum treatment done, and I am so happy with the results. Dr. Dhayni was very professional, caring, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. This is the place to get first-rate dental services from teeth cleaning to dental implants and dentures. The doctor and staff are excellent and very friendly. All my visits over the past few years have been quite enjoyable. I strongly recommend Dr. Dhayni's office for dental care.

I had four fillings done and they were done quickly and painlessly. I appreciate Dr. Dhayani and his kindness. One thing to note is they are not in network with any insurances, even though they say they accept all major PPOs. My cleaning was not covered by insurance, even though I was assured it would be by them. That being said, I went to a different, in-network dentist and got a much higher quote for the fillings than what this office gave me, even with insurance applied. This makes me believe Dr Dhayani is pricing competitively. Happy with the service I received.

I had such a great experience with Dr. Hussein. I was born without one of my adult teeth, so I needed an implant, and he made the entire process so much easier than I expected. He took the time to explain everything clearly and always made me feel comfortable and at ease.Every time I visit the office, I'm in and out quickly, and the staff is incredibly accommodating when it comes to scheduling appointments around my work.I was also surprised by how easy the recovery was. After my implant procedure, Dr. Hussein told me I could take Tylenol if I needed it, but I honestly never even had to. The entire experience was much smoother than I expected. I couldn't be happier with my care, and I would absolutely recommend Dr. Hussein to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate dentist.

When I first visited their office in April 2026 for X-rays and a full exam, I paid upfront and later received the insurance reimbursement check, which was mailed directly to my residence. For my second visit on May 26, 2026, I paid upfront for one tooth filling and a dental cleaning. I explained that I would return at a later date to complete the remaining fillings because I needed to budget for the additional expense.However, while I was in the dental chair, their staff decided to proceed with all of the remaining fillings without ever asking. I paid $605 for the services I had agreed to receive and understood what portion my insurance company would reimburse me for.During my phone conversation with their front desk employee, they explained that the insurance company mailed my reimbursement check to their office instead of sending it directly to me, as they had done after my first visit. Since they chose to complete all of the fillings during that appointment, the upfront payment I made was never returned to me as I had planned and budgeted for. I never received my reimbursement but I did receive an additional statement of $461 dollars. Unfortunately, their office unilaterally decided to accelerate payment for services by changing the agreed-upon treatment plan while I was on that dental chair. The outcome from this situation was hurtful, especially when I had every intention of returning to complete the additional fillings and paying the remaining balance as I do with all of my other financial obligations in full and in a timely manner.I had spoken with my insurance company, and they confirmed that because they mailed the reimbursement check to their office, it would be their responsibility to forward it to me.I hope if you're new to this location and are reading this, you wont have a scam situation left to deal with as myself and others had to. If you do decide to go to this place, best of luck to you.
