Cutting down a huge sentimental tree in my back yard with many dead branches, I was concerned about safety, damage to the house, and cleanliness. Some estimates were to climb the tree and use ropes which was very risky for safety and damage. I chose Sinnott because with their equipment no one ever climbs a tree. They have a huge bucket truck so the man moves into the tree and straps the branch. A colossal crane in the street hooked the straps before cutting, lifting them over the house and onto the street where they were chipped. It took about an hour, where the ropes guys quoted 4 hours therefore Sinnott cost incredibly less. Clean up was as if they were never there. Rick , the arborist, spent ½ hour with me recommending stump removal in May to save my lawn and enlightening me about my other trees, recommending other preservation tree services. Thanks Rick!Update - 7/1/2014Well, forget my opinion, last night proved it all after 70 mph winds and 3" of rain. After their trimming 05/14, I did not find a single branch off the tree this morning. Unfortunately, neighbors trees were damaged. Note that anyone with a polesaw, rope, and insurance document can take down a tree. Conversely, these guys are arborists, have purchased premium equipment (Stihl) and know the trees from a scientific view. Enough said. Use them. They are great people to know for references to other services.5/28/2014I hired this service to trim a grossly wounded tree with much sentimental value. Therefore I am very particular with this tree, but was able to walk away after a only a few minutes. Best is they new exactly what to trim and save. Sinnott was incredible. Great customer service, kept in contact with ComEd, with me, and were friendly and conscientious to my neighbors. The work was done with incredible finesse, precision, and safety. It was very clean and controlled. They cleaned all of the neighbors yards, made sure there weren't any remains of their work. The job was to clear about 100 feet of overgrown bushes about 14 ft deep, trim 4 trees, remove a number of trees and stumps, etc. They also had to remove 85 feet of chain link fence. This was a big job. The owner stayed with his workers the entire time. As the other reviewers said they arrived on time with the correct equipment to get the job done. During the process they noticed a few things that should be added and completed them without additional cost. They worked non-stop at an incredibly fast pace for about 3 hours. Very organized in having the workers move from one task to the next.They are true arborists and focus on the health of trees. They are the real deal. I will definitely use them again. Less
