Let’s Start with Me: I’ve fostered 40+ dogs. I’ve seen and done it all when it comes to dog behavior but I reached a point where I knew I needed an expert. My personal dog caused my foster dog to bite me and I struggled to get a trainer to listen and consistently help.Cornerstone came recommended from another foster so I put in a consultation request. Within a few days I had an hour long phone call with the owner Gina who said she would’ve fired the trainers I had dealt with before for their behavior. She thoughtfully placed me with James who was a former foster who’d been through a dog bite so I felt like he knew where I was coming from and where I wanted to go.James worked with the foster dog who bit me for 4 weeks and me and her adopter are so grateful. He got her to be comfortable around other dogs. She previously refused to go on walks but now easily went on a 2.5 mile walk. Everyday, she blows us away with what she’s learned.James worked with my personal dog for 3 weeks and she’s not perfect but she is so different. The day James picked her up I had to essentially hog tie her to do a sanitary cut and she nipped me multiple times. Now she easily accepts brushing and routine grooming. She responds to the e collar which gives us a hands free way to control her which is invaluable for future unpredictable interactions with fosters.Do it. Book the consult. Pay the money. Cornerstone is intentional with training and so worth it.

The admin staff is wonderful, as is Jess who was my dog's trainer. They really listen to what you need and then match you with a trainer. Jess listened to my behaviorial concerns, incorporated them into her training and then explained "remedies" very carefully to me when my four year old bichon was returned home. An extra bonus was that he really liked her! I especially appreciated how she trained me to reinforce the good behaviors and correct his missteps. After two weeks with Jess, he and I have a plan to keep those good behaviors in place.

If you have a big, excitable dog, look no further than Cornerstone K9. Our 10-month-old rottweiler Moose — 90 lbs of pure enthusiasm — struggled with impulse control, leash manners, and settling down around our young child. After four weeks with Karissa, he’s a different dog. She clearly has a gift for connecting with dogs and building real, lasting skills. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely return for boarding and advanced training.

We had a really great experience with Karissa!! We were nervous to send our Mal mix pup away for three weeks for board and train, but Karissa very quickly made us comfortable with her experience and training philosophy. I think during our follow on lesson, he was more excited to see her than us 😂 We did the hybrid plan and are looking forward to continuing to work with Karissa!

Mike led our dog Oskar through a three week board and train program. Oskar came back a happy, non-reactive, great on leash walking skills dog.It truly has changed our lives. We no longer are stressed that he is going to behave badly while walking the neighborhood or when someone comes to the door. He is the model of a well behaved dog. After calling around to serval board and train places we chose cornerstone k9 and could not be happier with our experience! Sherman was awesome with our concerns with our new puppy and what we wanted for him! He came back a totally well behaved pup and we are so excited to continue the work he started. I have a 3 year old blue heeler that grew up on a farm and did pretty much whatever he wanted when he wanted. I now have him living in a city and coming to work with me daily where folks are in and out regularly.I was having some issues with him responding to commands so I reached out to Cornerstone K9 and got setup with Mike for 5 weeks of board and train.I’ve had him back for a little over a week now and the improvements far exceed my expectations. Things that normally triggered his herding instincts are no longer an issue. I’ve had him around goats and cows that he would chase around the fence for hours and now he’ll just lay down and watch them. Drones are also a big trigger for him and he’s able to stay in place while they are flying near him.I’m much more comfortable with him in public and have had him out to coffee shops and restaurants with no issue.His on and off leash obedience is really solid now too. The change is so noticeable that I now have a co-worker interested in talking to Mike.I highly recommend Cornerstone K9 and especially Mike for any issues you may want resolved.

We’ve had a great experience with in-home boarding through Cornerstone K9. Our dog is pretty anxious and has struggled at traditional boarding facilities, but after our last two trips, he came home happy, well-exercised, and almost like we’d never been away.Jess was fantastic—easy to work with, flexible, and very communicative. She even offered convenient pick-up and drop-off for a small fee, which made things so much easier. We also loved getting updates and being able to follow along on her Instagram. We sent our dog for 3 weeks of training with Jess at Cornerstone K9 because he’s had a lot of trouble listening— he’s been back a week and while we of course still have to work on generalizing his training to our house, he’s doing so much better and we finally feel like we have some control. It’s really clear that Jess loves dogs and her job; while we were sad that he was away, we never worried about his safety or wellbeing knowing that he was in great and capable hands. Can certainly recommend!
