We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Cornerstone K9 and, most especially, our trainer Sandy! We sent our 15-month-old Golden Retriever for a 4-week training program focused on both on- and off-leash training with an e-collar, and the results have been amazing.Throughout the entire 4 weeks, Sandy kept us updated with pictures, videos, and progress reports, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing our dog was happy, well cared for, and learning. It was clear from the updates that Sandy truly cares about the dogs she works with and takes pride in what she does.Not only did our dog come home with a much better foundation and improved obedience, but we also came home with the tools and knowledge to continue the training ourselves. Sandy was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly easy to work with. My 7month Goldendoodle did training with Sherman. Results are already beyond what i expected. My dog was not able to hardly settle at all without treats but now he chooses to settle on his own. The “Heel” leash walking is far better than what i expected at his age.Sherman did a great job and i would recommend this Program to any dog owners especially ones like me who are too busy with work to do full-time training.

If you're considering dog training, I highly recommend Mike at Cornerstone K9!I enrolled my 130-pound Cane Corso, Kash, in the 4-week Board & Train program, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Kash is a lovable Mastiff teddy bear, but he needed structure, direction, and reinforcement of his basic commands. Before training, walking him was a workout—he pulled so hard on the leash, and let me tell you... Kash is STRONG!After four weeks with Mike, the difference has been incredible. Our walks are calm, enjoyable, and I haven't experienced any leash reactivity since bringing him home. Just yesterday we encountered a cat. Kash noticed it first and became alert, but thanks to what Mike taught me, I was able to redirect his attention, and he stayed focused on me instead of the cat. That moment alone showed me how effective the training has been.Mike also worked extensively on recall, and Kash now comes back when he's called, which has given me so much more confidence. We're still working on him holding his sit and down commands until he's released, but that's on me now. With consistency, patience, and continuing to practice what Mike taught us, I know he'll keep improving.Mike's knowledge, patience, and commitment to setting both dogs and owners up for success really shows. What a great experience! Jess was such a wealth of knowledge! Not only did she teach us things to work on (basic commands) but also the skill set to add to our dogs skill set when they are ready. She gave such practical ways to help our dogs learn, based on their own personalities. She was so patient and kind, gave great corrective suggestions. You will not be wasting money signing up for dog training, it was such a great experience!

I spent $5,000 on a board and train a few years ago for reactivity and my dog came back exactly the same except for the fact that she knew “place.”We had a trainer come over the house and meet my dog and discuss what I wanted for my dog out of this training.I clearly discussed that she was extremely reactive to anyone that came to the house. I told her that my dog would jump all over the car and bark if we took her somewhere she liked and was assured they could easily fix that.I asked for her to be muzzle trained and obviously leash trained, among other small things. She wrote all of this down in her phone’s notes app.I knew I wasn’t going to get a friendly, “loves everyone” kind of dog back but I was assured that she would come back easier to handle and redirect.It was supposed to be 4 weeks. The trainer spent the entire first week trying to get her out of the crate. I was charged $1,000 for this first week where absolutely no training was done because the trainer was unable to get her out. The guy at Sit Means Sit was able to grab my dog’s leash and walk around with her the first day I took her there. The same with the K-9 Commander (both out of Youngsville).The trainer then recommended an extra week since they lost that first week. Total was $1000 a week, $5000 total.When my dog came back the trainer admitted to not having worked on muzzle training because they were so busy with everything else. She said she would come back and work with her to which she did, ONCE. And then explained to me how to work on muzzle training with my dog… even though I had asked for this to be done during the board and train.I asked my trainer how things went with training my dog to be better in the car and she told me that the only way to fix this would be to buy a specific crate they sold (that was hundreds of dollars) and put that in the trunk of my jeep to keep her controlled. I’m again confused because this was supposed to be part of the training. Leash-training worked well until she spotted another dog or person and she would revert back to her old ways.I asked the trainer about this and about everything else we discussed prior to me signing their contract and was met with excuses and alternatives which left me thinking “had she told me this I wouldn’t have even paid for this training… what’s the point?”$5000 and my dog came back with an ecollar that does absolutely no good if she’s in reactive mode and nothing else.I 100% regret spending that insane amount of money with this company to get no results and think about this loss pretty often.If you’re looking for training for a reactive/aggressive dog, I would recommend the K-9 commander or Sit Means Sit. They are more fairly priced and yield better results.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Sandy and the care, training, and attention she provided to our dog, Sonny, during his three-week stay. From day one, Sandy treated Sonny like he was part of her own family. She consistently sent photos, videos, and training updates, which gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to see his progress every step of the way.Sonny came home much more well-behaved, confident, and trained. We adopted our mixed-breed dog at about three years old after she had spent roughly two years in foster care. She was a sweet dog, but she had a lot of chaotic energy and very little formal training. Sherman is the absolute best trainer! We have little mates a little over a year old. They needed help with obedience but more urgently reactivity. They had become afraid of nearly everything to the extreme of their own shadows and it unfortunately was leading to aggressive behaviors. At the end of their training Sherman brought us home two happy healthy and confident puppies with a love of learning new things. They love training and are just so much happier all around! It’s clear he was well informed about their needs and helped them overcome so much in such a short time. They absolutely adore him so we know they are treated incredibly well with him and he also shares videos along the way so we can see what they are working on. I cannot really put into words what he has done for these dogs and our family. The difference is phenomenal. There is peace in our home again and our dogs will have a much better life thanks to their time with him. If your family is struggling call Cornerstone K9 to get the help you need! Sandy did a wonderful job working with my Doberman, Juniper. She was always very quick and attentive to any questions or concerns I had. When brought home, juniper displayed great loose leash walking skills, in house obedience, and overall great attention to commands. She was very engaged, answered all of our questions, and showed genuine care for both our new pup and our family. We had a great experience with Cornerstone K9! We were having trouble with our two dogs getting along (boxer and an Aussiedoodle). They would be fine most of the time, and then randomly one would be triggered and start a fight with the other one that was challenging to break up. My family was stressed and losing hope. We didn’t want to give up on them. We had never given a dog away before, but we were getting to the point of considering it and were devastated. Karissa took the younger boxer for a 4 week training. The hope was to try to get her to understand boundaries and corrections form our older dog. Karissa even ended up keeping our dog for a few more weeks to make sure they got the space they needed to have a fresh start. I am very happy to say that after a somewhat tense reintroduction, the dogs have settled in nicely. There has not been an argument between them since she came home, and they have been much easier to manage. It is still a work in progress, but we are very happy with the results!

James from Cornerstone K9 took my intact 2 y/o vizsla for a 3 week board and train. My guy was already e-collar trained with basic commands, but I was struggling with consistency and moving past the basics. Biggest struggle was self regulating, staying in 1 spot longer than 5 seconds, and walking on a leash (would about choke himself out). James training was HUGE for me and my Otter. After getting a lesson with James post training, I’ve been able to continue Otters progress. He is now helping me train horses and trail riding off leash, is able to stay where I put him while I work, and I can leash walk him! I am so happy I can finally take him to breweries and public places! James also helped with beginning stages of resource guarding I was struggling with. The foundation James gave Otter has made all the difference giving Otter and I great relationship!

Jess was incredible. Reina, who I genuinely thought was untrainable at times, came back a completely different dog. We did a few in home sessions with Jess before boarding and I would 10/10 recommend doing that. Reina is a Xolo, which in my opinion is one of the harder breeds to train, and Jess absolutely crushed it. She was confident, knowledgeable, and honestly just badass at what she does. She made this experience worth it for us.My only complaints are around policies with ownership, not the training itself.First, they tell you to wait until 3 days before boarding/training to do the fecal sample. I would strongly recommend getting one done well in advance and then repeating it closer to the stay if needed, especially if you’re someone who takes your dog to the dog park often. It saves a lot of stress if anything comes up unexpectedly.Second, the refund policy is very strict. Any time we needed flexibility, it was eventually approved, but the first response was usually offering account credit instead of a refund. Considering the amount of money being invested, that didn’t make me feel very comfortable.Overall, Jess did an amazing job and I’m extremely grateful for the work she did with Reina. My advice is just to read the contract carefully and don’t book anything unless you’re 100% sure you’ll need it or have already run any questions and your exact scenario by the owners. We have an older dog with health issues that they ultimately were not able to accommodate after we had already booked, and if we had discussed everything beforehand, we likely could have avoided having to go through the refund process.

I highly recommend Cornerstone K9 and Karissa! We sent our boxer mix Cooper to their 5 week board and train to help with his reactivity, anxiety and overall manners and he returned a changed dog. His progress has been incredible. Before he would freeze on walks in the presence of other dogs or people and now he’s much more confident and passes by with barely any trouble. The biggest change has been his behavior in his crate. It used to be stressful for everyone when trying to get him to go into the crate when we’d have to leave the house or for bed time but now he goes in no problem. Lately before bed he even goes in all on his own! I can’t thank Karissa and Cornerstone K9 enough for all the work they have done for us and Cooper!

A Big "thanks for making her worse" to this company. Sent my Cane Corso there for 4 weeks and had to beg for updates on her progress. No pictures, video on her progress because they did absolutely nothing for her. Reactive issues was the main focus for sending her and they made all these promises that they could help her. I was told they could not take her on outings because they didn't know how to get her into the van to travel???? These are professionals???? They locked her in a kennel and did no training at all. What they said they taught her she already knew. Now the trainer with SPCA is working with her to undo what she was subjected to while in "professional training ". NEVER SEND YOUR DOG to this company, they will take your money and make your precious one worse.

I could not be happier with our experience with K9 Cornerstone! From the initial call, to the trainers, to the communication and support following our doodle’s return home, everyone was professional, supportive, and truly seemed to genuinely care about us and our dog! Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to change trainers from Kaitlyn to Sandy mid way through our train and board. However, this was communicated immediately with us. Everyone made sure we understood and were comfortable with the transition and that our dog’s training was uninterrupted! Both Kaitlyn and Sandy were wonderful! In the few weeks after Lucy’s (our doodle) returned home, we had a couple hiccups in her behavior. Sandy was quick to help and even pull in an additional trainer, Sherman, to be sure we got everything sorted out! Don’t hesitate to use this company! You will not be disappointed!
