Since the transfer to your care, I have had several cleanings, without screening x-rays, and a cracked tooth replaced with a crown - doing will so far.I'm not sure what purpose it served to ask me to seek another care provider under these circumstances. Dentists and hygienists have a duty to provide appropriate standard of care to their patients, and failing to do so can lead to disciplinary action, including fines and license suspension or revocation.Dental bitewing x-rays and examination are the most efficient method for evaluation of:Tooth decay: Decay can be detected as dark spots in X-ray images. X-rays are beneficial in detecting difficult-to-spot decay between teeth.Cancer: Early detection of bones and other cancers can improve treatment options.Infection: X-rays can detect certain bacterial infections or determine whether a root canal has failed.Cysts: X-rays can make lumps, polyps, nodules, and gum tissue growths easier to see.Bone loss: Recognizing advanced stages of periodontal disease.Periodontal disease: An infection around the root of a tooth can occur below the gum line. I called because I have not been to a dentist in years and I knew my teeth have been deteriorating over the years. It was time for me to do something about it. I scheduled an appointment with meridian dental because my wife had to get an emergency procedure done on a Saturday and they even stayed late to make sure her issue was taken care of. From the first phone call the staff was super friendly and got me in next day basing it off my schedule. When I walked in it was very quick and easy to get me enrolled as a new patient. The dental assistant (I’m terrible with names and I’m sorry) was very professional and made me feel comfortable getting into the dental chair after so many years. I was seen by Dr Walker and we went through the troubled area on my upper teeth. I neglected my teeth in my youth and I had two huge cavities on the left side of my upper teeth. He explained what was going on and told me his recommendation was to get two crowns. Never made me feel pressured and I decided to go for it. They were able to get me booked in two days Going in I was super nervous because I’ve never had any real dental procedure done besides a deep cleaning. The dental assistant who came out to get me prepped was amazing (I am terrible with names I’m sorry I cannot remember.) I am not the person who opens up and talks to others easily so the fact she talked to me on a level like a person I have known for a long time was amazing. She answered all of my questions and concerns. She was very attentive and showed concern if I felt any discomfort during the procedure. At one point the numbing wore off and she made it a point to call Dr. Walker to give me another shot to ease my pain. The whole staff is very professional and accommodating. It was really nice to not feel “gross” for my lack of dental care. I thank both dental assistants for their professionalism and care during both of my visits. Dr. Walker was great during both appointments. I enjoyed the fact that he laid out all of my options and actually cared about what the best option was for me during all of this. During my procedure, I felt like I’m a long time patient even though I am a new one. The procedure was very smooth and he made sure he let me know every step from start to finish so I wasn’t scared at all during it. Post op he told me everything to expect so that I didn’t have any surprises at home. When I got to my car and looked at the work I was amazed! The crowns look and feel so much like my natural teeth it’s like nothing ever happened! The left side looks just as natural as my right which was the goal all along! I can continue to live my normal day to day life without any problems! As a person who has not been to the dentist in a long time I really appreciate the whole team I worked with here! They made me feel like I wasn’t just another patient, but more as a person who has known them for years. I can’t thank each and every one of you enough for your care during all of this and I can’t wait to work with you again! Less
