However, once my payment plan was secured that was when the professionality and hopes for this job went out the window. As another reviewer has stated, this company contracts their work. For me this is not a problem as long as the workers are proficient. Unfortunately that lasted all of a day before the team that had arrived at 8am and left at 5pm the first day all of a sudden started coming and going from my home multiple times a day (paint for an hour leave for three come back and work another two hours then "clock out") and at one point did not even show up to work until after I reached out to my liaison to see if there was some conflict I was unaware of. Several messages later, they arrived in the afternoon. Speaking of my liaison, Steven, I feel as if all reliable communication with him has completely broken down once the job had started. Work began Thursday 08/15, and he was calling me Saturday 08/17 asking if it was okay to schedule a walkthrough now that the project was done. When not even 30% of the work had been completed. Not once did he come by the house to see how the job was progressing even after, again, several messages were sent (some left with no response, others that took 24hr+ for a return text) when I voiced my concerns regarding the progress of the job. I believe he barely reached out to the painters themselves who often would ask me what parts of the were supposed to be painted, stating they "did not know because no one finalize the plan with them". So a literal week later, the first crew was finally "finished" and I did my walkthrough. To their credit, I will say they did the best to their ability to clean up the (numerous) imperfections and inconsistencies I noticed prior to looking over the job with Steven. But, as the liaison said himself, the work done looks as if someone with no experience decided to buy some tools and out in a week of work at my home. So! Needless to say I am very disappointed. This project has turned into a mess fostered by severe miscommunication and unprofessionalism which I feel could have been handled better with minor tweaks in Artisan Painters business practices (having someone come oversee the work done at any point in the process, ensuring your ESL paints understand the work they're doing, adjustments to projects ETA). Several of my furniture deliveries have been either rescheduled or outright cancelled in an effort to get the paint job done and all I have to show for it now is "ongoing touch ups until the customer is satisfied". At this point, I don't know what can make me satisfied because it feels like I have been scammed out of thousands of dollars for what was supposed to be a simple paint job in a sub 1600 sqft. townhome. Which does not even include every room in the house. Hopefully I will be able to provide a more positive update once the work is complete but at this time we are two weeks in and that seems highly unlikely. Update (since posting review): No one, not even our liaison, has reached out to me despite messaging me on Friday afternoon that they would respond via text. However, I do notice someone from the company has been active and commenting on the positive reviews here. Interesting. Less

I was told, sorry, that I must have "slipped thru the cracks" It seems to me that Artisan sells a job and that's it. What they need is someone walking thru to check on their subs to make sure they're painting is quality and they know what is to be painted. We also had some misunderstanding on that. I will say my subs showed up on time and worked all day. My complaint is more a quality issue. I don't think the subs I had were all that experienced and there were a lot of places that had to be repainted. I'm still doing touch-ups myself on the cabinets. There is a 2yr warranty that I'm afraid I'm going to be using. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this company to my friends nor would I ever use them again. Less

Moreover, the painters were frequently late without communication, causing inconvenience as I had to reach out to confirm schedules, especially since I rearranged my work schedule to accommodate the project.Although assurances were made about restoring the space and cleanup, they did not fulfill these commitments. There was no follow-up to ensure satisfaction, and it felt like everyone involved disappeared once the job was completed.Despite these shortcomings, the quality of the work itself was satisfactory. However, the overall customer service experience leaves much to be desired. Despite their lack of communication throughout the painting project, I found Artisan Painting to be surprisingly eager when it came to sending multiple text messages and emails to collect the remaining balance. I know enough about painting to provide supervision and feedback when there needed to be a touch up and sanding in the final review. At the end of the work I worked with the painter to put furniture back in place (he was the only crew left). Paint supervision was missing overall: no checking in by the supervisor with me how things were going, and I had a hard time tracking them down when I needed clarification. There was also no final walk through after the completion.So- bottom line- great work and work ethic by the paint crew, not so great job by the leaders and supervisors. Less
