UPDATE:Greetings everyone! I just wanted to provide a quick update regarding this whole situation. Long story short it was a misunderstanding between Star Motor Werks and I.Geoff made numerous attempts to contact me as well as took time out of his busy schedule to chat with me about the specificities of project. Every little detail was explained and Geoff even provided his professional opinions regarding the equipment / pricing. He for sure knows MB like the back of his hand!Since the holidays are fast approaching, my brake upgrade has been pushed back a little. We agreed to meet in person in the near future and proceed with my project. I will definitely update y’all with a full review once the project has been completed.With that being said, I’m changing my review to five stars (since Geoff and the crew are trying their best to make it right!).ORIGINAL POST:I initially found Star Motor Werks via Instagram when scrolling through car stuff. I’ve been saving up for a brake upgrade. I reached out via Instagram (as advertised to on their IG page) back in December 2024 and received an automated response (see attached screenshot). Never heard back. Life happened and I forgot about it.Fast forward to a couple weeks ago… again another Instagram add for “Star Motor Werks” popped up when I scrolling through car stuff. I looked up their Yelp page and this time. Since I was already on Yelp, I decided to reach out via Yelp’s “Request a Quote” feature. I left all the details about my goals for the project.The following day, I was contacted by a very helpful representative. She asked for some additional information and advised that she would call me back with details / pricing. She mentioned, “Oh yeah, we’ve done brake upgrades before!” I was stoked!! That was on 10/12/25.Never heard back. I decided to followed up on 10/13/25, I was informed that the details are still being worked on.Again on 10/14/25, I reached out and got the same response. At approximately 5PM, I received a call from Geoff (I believe his name is pronounced as “Jeff”). Since it was an unknown number, the call was pushed to voicemail. Geoff left a voicemail indicating that the project can be done, but parts must be ordered. I called back within 5-10 minutes and missed him. He was out for the day. I asked the representative if i can call back to chat with Geoff and was encouraged that they’ll reach back out to me.The following day… nothing. I’m starting to get the point. I re-attempted to reach out again on 10/17/25 and… you guessed it!!… same response. Keep in mind, today is (as I’m writing this) is 10/25/25 and I’m still waiting for a response.I’m sure their work is good (based on all the 5 star reviews on Yelp and Google), but unfortunately for me… I never had the chance to experience that “5 star service”.Just a little bummed out about the whole situation. I mean, I got my hopes up and it came crashing down… hard! I’m a serious customer, needing help for a project and I’m not trying to waste anyone’s time. Makes me wonder, why all the adds and expertise content on social media but… can’t even respond to a customer?? Therefore, 3 stars for me… the representative was very helpful and polite. Geoff seems knowledgeable and knows what he’s talking about (based on the voicemail he left). But as mentioned above, I didn’t get to experience what y’all Google reviewers keep writing and raving about.
