I'm a fan of Gyukatsu Motomura in Japan, so when I found out that they put up a branch here in Boracay, obviously I have to try it and it did not disappoint! 👍The quality of the beef was superb just like in Japan. Great Japanese restaurant right on the lake. Small menu with a good selection. Service was good and very friendly. The meat and presentation were "good." Unfortunately, there was one incident that completely ruined the visit. The kitchenmanager, a woman wearing glasses that day, was wearing gloves. Unfortunately, the gloves were used to wipe their faces, reach into their pockets, touch the refrigerator, appliances, and constantly touch their cell phones. These things are certainly not disinfected. Immediately afterward, they touched meat and other food again. Very unhygienic, not to mention that cell phones don't belong in the kitchen if you want to sell quality here. As soon as something else is touched, the gloves have to be changed. Unfortunately, nothing was changed in the hour we were there. Cell phones, in particular, carry the most bacteria, germs, and pathogens. I doubt the 100% hygiene in this place. They didn't even ask about allergies. The owner is half Filipino and half Chinese, so not even really Japanese. The price isn't really optimal; it's too expensive for what you get. Cabbage, soup, and cucumbers are all you can eat. The food is okay, but the surrounding ingredients aren't. Sorry to say. Less

Never thought I’d find A5 wagyu in Bora! Felt like I was back in Osaka! Melt in your mouth wagyu in katsu and cubes! Innovative way of cooking as well with that fast burning habachi-like grill. Sides were very generous too when you order the sets: potato, salad, miso soup and rice! Dessert was covered as well with their ice cream!
