I gotta start this off by saying—my first tattoo experience somewhere else was straight out of a fever dream. I walked into this place called 2 Vivid, ready to get tatted, a little nervous but excited… and the dude doing my tattoo comes out in fishnets and a skirt. Like full commitment. Nothing against anyone, but I’m sitting there like “yo… I’m just trying to get a tattoo, not question my entire life right now.” Whole vibe was awkward as hell, but I pushed through it.Safe to say… not the experience I was hoping for.Fast forward—I’m driving home from work, stopped at a red light, and I see Black Crown Tattoo. Something just clicked, so I reached out with some ideas. Didn’t expect much, but they got back to me quick, actually had a real conversation, and no weird vibes.The artist listened to what I wanted (which already put him miles ahead), and came back with a sketch that was exactly what I had in mind. Not rushed, not generic—he actually cared.We booked it, I showed up, and right away it was a completely different experience. Chill shop, good music, normal energy, and just an all-around solid environment where you can relax and not feel weird sitting in the chair.And yeah… no men in fishnets and cheetah skirts this time—which for me personally was a huge upgrade 😂Session was smooth, we were talking, laughing, and the tattoo came out clean. You can tell when someone takes pride in their work, and that’s exactly what you get here.If you want a place that actually listens, delivers, and gives you a comfortable experience, go to Black Crown Tattoo. I stumbled upon this shop after being ghosted by another well known shop in Hanover and man am I glad they ghosted me because this dudes work is amazing. The tattoo was for my 16 year old son who got a memorial tattoo for his father. His line work was crazy good. You can tell this dude is passionate and loves what he does. Very knowledgeable and constantly asked my son how he was doing during the process. He didn’t rush and explained the aftercare process very throughly. My son and I are very impressed and pleased by his work!! 1000% recommend!

Walked in acting tough, left humbled 😂Super chill shop, music was on point, and the place is full of cool artwork. AJ is talented, down to earth, and easy to work with. The tattoo came out clean and way better than I expected.10/10 would come back and pretend I don’t feel pain again.

I walked into Black Crown Tattoo like I was the main character… confident, relaxed, acting like I’ve done this a hundred times. Meanwhile my heart is beating like I just drank 3 energy drinks and made a bad decision (which I did).I sit down with Sketch, show him my idea — and when I say idea, I mean something I probably came up with in 30 seconds. This man looks at it, pauses, and I swear I saw him mentally upgrade it by about 1,000%. He starts sketching and I’m already thinking, “yeah… I’m in danger.”But at that point it’s too late. We locked in.Now the tattoo starts… and listen, I thought I was tough. I work, I deal with pain, I got this. About 15 minutes in I’m gripping the chair like it owes me money, staring at the wall like I’m trying to unlock a new level of consciousness. Sketch is just chilling the whole time, steady hand, clean lines, talking like we’re just hanging out. Meanwhile I’m fighting demons internally but trying to act normal 😭At one point I hit that silent mode where you don’t even talk anymore… you just exist. If you know, you know.But here’s the thing — dude never rushed, never cut corners. Every line was clean, shading smooth, everything precise. You can tell he actually cares about making it perfect, not just getting you in and out. That’s rare.Shop itself? Clean. Professional. Good vibe. Nobody acting weird, nobody rushing you, just solid people and good energy. Made it way easier to not panic halfway through my life choices.Finally it’s done… he wipes it off, I look at it — and I’m not even exaggerating, it came out WAY better than what I walked in with. Like not even close. It went from “yeah this could be cool” to “alright… this is actually fire.”I stood up feeling like I just survived something. Little lightheaded, little proud, whole new level of respect for tattoo artists.Moral of the story:Sketch is the real deal. If you go to Black Crown Tattoo, trust him. Just… maybe don’t act as tough as I did going in 😂10/10 experience. Would absolutely come back and willingly get hurt again for another piece.

Black Crown Tattoo is easily one of the best shops around. Sketch is insanely talented — his linework is clean, shading is on point, and he really takes his time to make sure everything comes out perfect. You can tell he actually cares about his work and his clients. The shop is clean, professional, and has a great atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back for more work.

I had two great experiences getting my tattoos done by aj He was professional, easy to talk to, and really took the time to make sure the designs were perfect. The studio was super clean, and the tattoos came out better than I imagined — crisp lines and amazing detail. Highly recommend AJ for anyone looking for quality work!

Free tattoos turned into owing him thousands of dollars then he had the audacity to text me and say he would rob me if he had too. Stay away!!! Stay far away.Edit, police have been notified

sketch was super fast to get back to me, i got in the next day because winter is a slow season in this area, he’s very easy to work with for pricing. i came in at 230 i chose the stencil i wanted, he got all set up and i was out of there by 3:15 at the latest. He’s also not quiet like some are he has good conversations with you to keep the vibes good. I will be going back!

I met sketch last night. I stopped in for his flash sale. I love the man and his wife. Theyre solid people and AJ is the best tattooer in Hanover. I’ll be returning to get my sleeve worked on! Aj is beautiful. Aj’s wife jamue is stunning as well. There couldn’t be a better tattoo coupke in Hanover AJ does all tattoo styles. His wife does some bright popppy colors
