When I realized I dreaded going each week, I decided not to return. They had my payment info on file and I was to be automatically charged each month. Apparently they didn't do that. Even when I was in my "prime" in my late teens and early 20s, I still wasn't really healthy because it was through extreme dieting fads. After having my 3 kids, I gained the most weight (5'10' at 250lbs) I had and then it felt like my body betrayed me. I was going to a personal trainer, playing basketball, being super strict with macros, tracking, intermittent fasting, etc and still wasn't seeing lasting results. I would lose maybe 5-10 pounds and then plateau. The most I lost was around 20 while on phentermine but as soon as that stopped I would bounce back up. I wasn't a super unhealthy eater either as I don't eat out, don't drink soda, tried to focus on protein etc, but I couldn't figure out the food side of things to make it uncomplicated and life-style lasting. My hormone tests were coming back within optimal ranges and I was very discouraged which would further hurt my mental relationship with food. He ran tests, including blood tests and found that I had been exposed to something toxic and had Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome. Spending several months driving over 5 hours one way for treatment may seem excessive to some, but truly, Dr. Roberts saved my life. I have my life back. In the spring of 2023 I began to experience quite a bit of joint pain. This slowed my activity down quite a bit. That caused me to gain even more weight. I started to experience edema in my legs. Every time I tried to exercise I would pay the price for days with joint pain. I began to feel that I would not be able to continue working until my planned retirement age. I had tried several weight loss methods and had limited success. Thats when I saw the ad for Health Utah and decided to do the body scan and consultation with Doctor Roberts. I will admit that I was some what skeptical at first but much of what Dr. Roberts told me in that first visit made a lot of sense so I decided to give it a try. Paying the total cost upfront was a leap of faith but being able to use my HSA funds helped a lot. By day three I had a panic attack feeling like I could not do it and now I had lost everything having paid upfront. Well, after calming down I decided to put my all into it and see what happens.
