Before I started with Lifestyle Performance Training, I was in a very different place with my health.I had recently begun a medically supervised weight loss program, which meant I needed to carefully monitor my protein intake and significantly increase my strength training. At the same time, I was dealing with a serious shoulder injury that required surgery and rehabilitation. To be honest, I hadn’t followed a structured exercise program in years. I had always relied on what I’d call a “see food” diet—eating what I wanted, when I wanted—and letting my activity level balance things out. But after turning 60, that approach stopped working. I started gaining a few pounds each year, and it wasn’t coming off.The most frustrating part was knowing I needed to make a change, but not being sure how to do it safely. I didn’t want to risk damaging my shoulder, and I knew I needed guidance to build consistency and proper technique. This time has been different. With Lifestyle Performance Training, I’ve had a clear plan and the right support. The combination of strength training, nutrition guidance, and coaching has helped me stay consistent and confident in what I’m doing.Using the diet journaling, I’ve been able to better manage my intake—eating healthier while increasing protein. At the same time, the training program has helped me build strength safely, even while working through my shoulder recovery. In the first six months, I lost 30 pounds. But what’s even more important to me is that I’ve improved my body composition—I’ve gained muscle while reducing both body fat and visceral fat.I’ve also become much more consistent over the past year, which is something I struggled with before. The impact on my life has been significant.I feel better physically, but also mentally. I have a more positive outlook on my health, and I actually look forward to continuing this process. My goal now is to keep building on this progress by training consistently and maintaining the habits I’ve developed. What stands out most is that this feels sustainable.I’m not trying to get back to who I used to be—I’m building something better moving forward.
