We had a chainsaw issue today with a cap, very random. We spent a lot of time at different stores looking for this cap. Finally I called Matt after a “chainsaw” search on Google found him, he does chainsaw carving. I randomly asked where he gets his chainsaws serviced. He was so kind and helpful! Good human and that important in business! Thanks Matt and when I’m ready for my carving, you will be called!He was so nice and very helpful! If you ever need a carving, hit this guy up! Matt is an amazing and a very creative carver! At first I was skeptical of having something carved that he has never carved before, but seeing his work after the 1st day, I felt confident it was going to turn out awesome and it did because he truly enjoys what he does. He wants you to be satisfied with every angle of what he’s carving and if it’s an animal he’s carving, he will give it a unique personality that will make you smile! Matt is a genuine artist and a great guy. I explained to him my idea of carving a snake into the 10' tall 36" wide remains of an ash tree. Luckily he essentially ignored my weak suggestions and proceeded to sculpt what turned out to be a masterpiece. So if you hire him please allow his imagination to go wild; you will not be disappointed.Having an on-site carving done is not an inexpensive undertaking but Matt's fee is definitely reasonable. He is fully insured and totally adhered to our written agreement. There were no hidden or extra charges or surprises and no excuses. He puts in a full day's work and left the jobsite clean. He comes equipped with a trailer load of equipment including innumerable chainsaws of all sizes, scaffolding, torches for charring where needed, dyes and stains, spray equipment for applying sealers, etc.I am very pleased. My giant, non-menacing, one of a kind snake is a neighborhood conversation piece. This photo was a quick snapshot I just took in poor lighting. You really have to walk around it to truly appreciate it.

My husband and I had two carvings done from two dead ash trees on our wooded lot (an owl and full size bear). Matt did an amazing job! The detail on the owl's feathers and the bear's fur is amazing. We are so pleased with Matt's work. He took our concept of carving a blue heron and created a work of art out of the tree trunk in our front yard.
