Today, I’m celebrating my success. One year ago, at the age of 74, I reached out toKatie Hornberger asking her to become my personal trainer and nutrition coach. Iwas inspired after reading her amazing success story and I was hopeful that shewould be able to help me reach my health, fitness, and weight loss goals.After several decades of trying to lose that last ten pounds, I decided to try again. Atfirst, I needed to focus on nutrition. Before working with Katie, I was only concernedwith counting calories. She taught me the importance of eating a well-balanced dietand getting enough calories every day. That was my first task. Following her advice, Ikept a food journal of everything I ate, and she reviewed my progress with me eachweek. After a few months, eating good nutritional foods in the right amounts everyday became a habit for me. Also, Katie calculated my daily water goal, and I begandrinking a lot more water.Next, Katie and I focused on my fitness goals. She stressed the importance of beingconsistent with my exercise routine and provided lots of options for me. When Iwasn’t feeling up to going on the elliptical or biking on my recumbent bike, shesuggested that I take longer walks. In addition, she instructed me to include morestrength training in my routine to build more muscle and increase my core strength.This past year, I faced some difficult challenges along the way, but Katie continuouslyencouraged and motivated me to stay on track, and I pushed through the obstacles.With her guidance and support, I did it. My health improved and I lost fifteen pounds!Thank you, Katie!
