I availed the services of a local travel agency for our 4-day tour of Zamboanga City. Doing so turned to be one of the best decisions I made because Once Islas only accepts a maximum of 200 visitors per day, and advance notice to the local tourism office is required. Unlike Sta. Cruz Island, Onçe Islas is not often visited by tourists because it is quite a distance from the city. Out of the 11 islands, I only got to see 2 because the rest are not open to the public. Our first stop was Baung-Baung Island where the local guide led us to some amazing rock formations. I opted not to explore the more difficult areas due to the risk of falling into the sea or getting injured if I slip. The beach in this island is excellent for swimming because of the calm and warm waters. The sand is pristine white too. Our second stop was Bisaya-Bisaya island . This was where the guide made us wait until 2PM when the tide was low enough to cross the sea and get a glimpse of the hidden infinity pool. If you are a nature and beach lover, Onçe Islas would be the perfect place to unwind and take pictures. The place does not have any restaurants to buy food from so bringing your own supplies may be necessary. Visitors will be charged for the cottages they occupy at both islands, which is equivalent to a group entrance fee. Onçe Islas is clean, safe, and still far from being commercialized like Boracay and Palawan.

I have always wanted to visit Zamboanga City because of their culture and colorful vintas. I thought that our main activity there would be the usual city tour of mosques and museums but the travel agency that I coordinated with offered a day tour to Sta. Cruz island, which is how I learned about the place. The island is famous for its pinkish sand by the shoreline, thanks to the crushed red corals that are found in the area. The most enjoyable activity was the 30-minute lagoon ride which enabled us to learn about the mangrove trees, hold a stingless jellyfish, see a walo-walo or sea krait, and ride a vinta. The water is very clear but not suitable for swimming because of the presence of stonefish and stingrays. We chose the tour with the seafood lunch option where we had a chance to try the curacha crabs that are abundant in Zamboanga. Availing the guided tours gives the Moslem residents a chance to earn extra income so visiting the island is highly encouraged. The Moslems speak Tagalog fluently, which is a plus. Zamboanga City is safe and peaceful, which is the exact opposite of how the media describes it.

Over-all the tour was ok. Except that there were places included in the itinerary like the Crosswinds in which we were not allowed to enter because it became private already. The driver was patient in waiting for us and gave us good suggestions.

This trip really delivered. You don’t get days like this very often. Even in rainy season the weather was good. Stunning places to swim and snorkel. Great coral. Love the strict no littering policy. You won’t regret this very reasonably priced trip. Even with a couple of extra costs for entering the lagoon and hiring kayaks (not expensive) this is worth every penny. Particularly impressed as a solo traveller that they remembered my name and looked out for me, making sure I was having a good time.

This excursion was very fun! We saw dolphins, swam and waded in and along the beautiful waters of the sandbar. Ate a very generous portions of all types of local foods. Then headed to the mountains and Twin lakes. The staff and crew all were very kind and informative all along our driving routes and even helping take photos and everything else. Definitely recommend this trip! Hope everyone goes and has a great time like we did. God bless 🙌

We visited Puerto Galera as promised to our beloved sister, who longed to see its beauty but sadly lost her battle with stage 4 cancer in November. Being there as a whole family was emotional yet healing. The white sand, clear waters, and gentle sunsets reminded us of her warmth and love. Every wave felt like her embrace, and every breeze whispered her laughter. Though she wasn’t with us physically, her spirit filled every moment. Puerto Galera will always be more than a destination—it’s now a sacred place of love, memory, and family.

We had a wonderful time seeing s quick history and overview of Manilla. Packed in so many sights ans gained an understanding of how the Phillipines has evolved and developed over the years of colonisation. WE only had a 12 hour layover between flights and this worked perfectly with a few hours at a hotel for sleep and shower.

Be careful when you jump, they dont give any instructions out only get you to sign a form exempting from claiming due to injury. My husband, and my two sons hurt their backs not life threatening, so ask plenty of questions before jumping yourself

Just a 15 mims boat ride from mainland Zamboanga.Pinky sandy beach,crystal clear blue water,quiet and not overcrowded.There is also a guided trip to the mangroves for small fee.Beautiful enchanting place.Will visit again and again.
