Run Potential: Rehab & Performance

It’s hard to know where to start, Sean has been an instrumental blessing in recovering from a devastating injury.
On 11/6/23 I went out for an easy run in Garden of the Gods. I tripped going downhill and broke my ankle, EMS found me with my foot pointing in the wrong direction. I suffered a pilon/trimalleolar fracture (the tibia was ground into my foot, leaving bone crumbles inside the joint, along with a broken fibula.) I needed 2 metal plates and 12 screws, then nearly 3 months of not walking.
I had just done the Pike’s Peak Ascent 6 weeks prior and remembered a video Sean had posted, I gave him a call.
His first question was “If you could do anything, what would it be?” I laughed because I wanted to do the Pike’s Peak Marathon, Sean said “How about just the Ascent?” I think I nearly fell over. This gave me hope, not of just running again, but running in the mountains that I love!!!
Sean has helped me through each phase of recovery, with his expertise and compassion. He helped me believe when I couldn’t see it for myself, but most of all he gave me hope when I was in a very painful, dark place.
Sean has an amazing ability to thoroughly assess and explain what is needed. Each visit I would continue to progress from limping with a cane, to walking, to jogging and finally running!!!! He gave me the tools to succeed, but I had to put in the work. This has been a life changing injury, I’m so grateful that I found Sean. He is truly an exceptional PT, but also a genuinely kind person who wants to see you succeed.
I am right on track to run the Ascent 9/21/24, just 10 months later! This wouldn’t have been possible without Sean’s incredible ability, dedication and guidance.
