We absolutely love David and Maria!At the end of 2024, Todd and I adopted a four-year-old Yorkshire Terrier named Toby. I’ve adopted dogs in New York City since the late 90’s, but Toby presented challenges which I had not yet encountered.Temperamental, territorial, combative, anxious, mistrusting, aggressive with other dogs, and sometimes even us, Toby was a lot! Over a couple of months, we hired two separate dog trainers to help us ameliorate his issues and help us find solutions, both efforts produced no result. In each instance, the trainers wanted to take a soft to gentler approach, rewarding Toby even for the slightest glimmer of new behavior, which never lasted more than a couple of hours.Enter Disciplined Dog Trainer!Todd discovered David through a Google search, and shortly thereafter we had about a 30 minute phone interview wherein we discovered that David takes a much stricter, almost militaristic approach based upon respect and clear intentions.Toby went to stay with David and Maria for four weeks - David was available for phone calls and he constantly updated us with videos of Toby’s progress as well as instructional videos as to the work that Todd and I were going to need to do to inhabit and maintain Toby‘s newfound sense of trust and behavior.Upon Toby’s return, David and Maria came to our home and spent several hours with us - training, guiding, instructing and advising us. No Detail was too small, It was immensely helpful. We are thrilled with the results and it’s quite clear to us that Toby will only maintain his behavior with a lot of work from me and Todd.I highly recommend Disciplined Dog Trainer, as frankly, we were at our wits end and now we are very happy to live and coexist with Toby and understand him quite a bit better, and he understands us better as well, and we all love and appreciate each other much more.We are all much happier! This experience has been extremely eye opening and humbling on all accounts. The wonderful efforts using clear intentions has restructured our quality of life. David and team provided insight and guidance and now we will continue to improve our skills at home for our two dogs. I have been a long time follower of DDT so naturally when I got a Rottweiler puppy, I knew where to go. My experience with DDT has been very amazing to say the least. I have a 3 month old Rottweiler, Raya, who was very fearful and not confident. I trusted David and his family with Raya for 5 weeks. David and Maria also kept me informed everyday throughout this time which helped in training my other dogs at home for a seamless transition. David also helped me address some health concerns that Raya was facing and was able to educate me on holistic practices that one can utilize! When the training was close to completion, David integrated me into part of the process to help me become a better handler and leader for Raya and my other dogs. I am so grateful because of them, I know I am prepared to handle Raya as she grows up to be 100+ pounds! Thank you again David, Maria and Owen, you guys are amazing!!! David and his wife are absolutely phenomenal. I have a 5 year old German shepherd who I’ve always struggled with his reactivity and nervousness. Before it used to be so stressful taking him on walks or passing people and especially dogs. He would start barking lunging growling. I always had to be on edge. Always wanted to put him in training but everyone would say he’s a lost cause, or not give exactly what I wanted. I came across their instagram page and started to look at some of the work they do. They proudly took bigger breeds and I saw the before and afters of some the dogs they’ve worked with and it was amazing! So decided to give it a shot. I did their board and train program where he would be gone for 2 weeks while they trained him. It was hard for me since I had never been away from him that long ever. But it was the best decision I ever made trusting David and his wife. Everyday I would get updates through videos and pictures, and it was unbelievable the change I saw in him. It was what I always wanted for him! It was like he was completely different dog! Now I feel more confident walking him taking him more places and being able to give the life he deserves!! Less

David and Maria are the best! I took my 5 year old dog to their 3 week board and train program due to reactivity and aggression issues. Needless to say I was quite nervous to leave my dog in the hands of someone else, but David and Maria went above and beyond to make me feel extremely comfortable with having my dog in their care. There was a constant line of communication with pictures and videos of his progress. I couldn't believe all of the progress he had made in just 3 weeks! David and his family really helped us out. Our boy, Gunnison, has always had this excited energy to him and at times has gotten agressive and bit. It was hard to walk through our apartment if both my fiancee and I were home together, becuase he would go guard her and/or sometimes got in my way and snarled. He's been reactive ever since he was a puppy and we really needed help.That's when we found Disciplined Dog Trainer! David came and explained everything they were going to work on with Gunny and sent us videos and pictures of the entire process. A month later and it was shocking to see how well Gunny listened to commands. He still challenges us but David gave both Gunny and us the tools to communicate with and understand each other.
