This BJJ gym brought me back the dream to learn a martial art. I am 39 yo and I’ve being training here for 4 months. Different of other gyms I was before this one was very welcoming to a newcomer woman on my age. I felt like I was capable to learn here. My son, my wife and I have been coming to this school for 4 years. I have seriously considered going to alternate schools after moving further from the location. However, it is because of Professor Andre and the coaches he employs that we stayed. The professionalism, attention to detail and focus on safety were parts of the reason we stayed and endure the drive. The main reason we stayed is because of the community of friendship and family that Professor Andre has built. Coach Sandra, Coach Eric, Coach Stormy have all followed his example and because of that, we wouldn’t go to any other gym.Other reviews stating that this particular school will brush off or make light of injuries is laughable at best. Speaking from personal experience, this staff has gone above and beyond to attempt to minimize injuries. To imply otherwise is foolish, as it’s not exactly a good business model to hurt the very clientele that keep the lights on.If you live in the Round Rock area, please, drop in and see for yourself the quality of people that this gym employs! I’ve been training at GB Round Rock for the last 6 years under Professor Andre. During this time, I have not only learned self defense, but have also gained confidence, leadership skills, and am part of a huge jiu jitsu family.I am one of the smallest people in the adult class, yet I feel I can safely train with anyone, regardless of size, without fear of being injured due to the diligent teaching and coaching of Professor Andre as well as Professor Davidson.I absolutely love the friendly culture and brotherhood of this gym and am looking forward to many more years of training.
