Brisket usually hurts my feelings. I order it, knowing it's probably going to be dry but hoping it won't be. This time, it didn't hurt my feelings. I was actually able to cut it with a fork & it was so juicy I didn't need sauce or a drink after. The pulled pork, chicken, burnt ends were all perfection. The creamed corn was real corn-not canned. The baked beans have amazing flavor. 10/10

This has been in my "want to stop" queue for over a year, and now I'm furious with myself. I can't believe I missed out for that long! First of all, it is in the coolest old house converted to restaurant. Creaky floors, trendy decor, and side rooms which contribute to a more intimate dining experience. I went with 2 friends and we selected a bunch of items: brisket dirty rice, pulled pork, brisket, pork belly burnt ends, mac & cheese, and beans. Nothing but delicious bite after delicious bite. The mac & cheese is obsession worthy. On the next trip (in the very near future), I will going to try the smoked turkey, corn, and a piece of cheesecake. There are thoughtful considerations, too, like to go containers available without having to ask at their very busy counter!

This was my first time visiting, and unfortunately it wasn’t a good first impression. I walked in, looked over the menu, and then stood at the counter for about 5 minutes. There were two employees behind the counter, but neither one acknowledged me, greeted me, or let me know they would be with me shortly. I eventually turned around and left.As I was leaving, they seemed confused, so I explained that no one had said a word to me. I understand people can be busy, but a simple “we’ll be right with you” would have made a big difference. Unfortunately, I left feeling completely ignored and won’t be returning.

Do not order to go! I LOVE big thicket however every time I try to get it to go they skimp out on the sizes especially the sides! You will be much better off ordering in house and putting it in your own to go containers. Otherwise you will get half of the amount you would get in house.
