When she asked me a question she wouldn’t even let me finish my answer before she jumped to conclusions and cut me off. Everything kind of nice she said felt so scripted like she just says it in every room. I understand young women needing to start on birth control is something she sees every day, but just because it is familiar to her doesn’t mean it is familiar to me. If she’s so bored of it she should go do something else. I really don’t like being harsh, and I’m sure she is a lovely person, but someone needs to remind her that the entire point of her job as a doctor is to help people, not to make them feel rushed, belittled, overwhelmed, and dumb. I specifically told her that I didn’t do a lot of research because I know Google has a lot of false information so I wanted her to walk me through the options. But all I got was a sheet of paper with a chart of options on it and she kept asking if one sounded better than another or if I had any questions for her, and I was like I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT IM LOOKING AT. I left my appointment feeing like I was about to cry out of frustration, with a prescription for something I barely know anything about and no more knowledge about this topic than I went in with. There were other things that really made me feel upset and genuinely disrespected that I won’t even get into for the sake of my review being too long, but if you haven’t gathered it already: I don’t recommend her to anyone. I hope she does some serious self-evaluation and gets re-oriented to what her purpose as a doctor is. Dr. Gebel if you are reading this, please know that I’m sure you’re very intelligent and a very good doctor, but none of that matters if a person leaves an interaction with you feeling disrespected and overwhelmed. Dr. Gebel has great bedside care and makes sure you feel comfortable through the whole visit. The facility is clean and welcoming.
