In 2022, we hired Lawn'N'Order to do a complete landscape (including hardscape) on our property & new build in La Salle. We contacted them in June and after the design completion, they started in September and ended late Oct. The extensive work included both front and back yards. Many trees, shrubs, rocks, patio stones, and grass. They also arranged the inground sprinkler system with Greenlawn. Communication - Communication has been very good. Jeff and Brian are great to deal with and genuinely care about their customers and crew. They respond quickly and keep in contact with us to ensure that plantings are still proceeding well. Design - Calvin created the design through our vision, and the end result is stunning. Crew - All crews were very pleasant and worked hard to keep the project moving. Quality of work - The crew, design and company produces a good quality of work. Their team works well together and it shows in the end result. Price - Our property is large, approx 100ft wide by 200ft front to back. Given the high cost to install landscaping/hardscaping, we feel that it was kept at a reasonable amount within our budget. There are things that were a concern to us. As a first time customer hiring a landscaper, we don't have a comparison but believe that there is room for improvement. Product Quality- The quality of the products was fair. Possibly from a late season install. The sod initially put down was poor and moldy. The sod (as well as the trees) sat for too long (weeks) on the pallets and therefore struggled from the beginning. We did what we could to help it establish, but it was too close to the cold season (end Oct). We continue work with all the plantings & sod but it is a struggle at times. Several of our trees & shrubs did not survive the first year. This required replacing 3 large blue spruce in back, the large Scotch Pine in front and one shrub in back. Although the products are under warranty, the labour and equipment/travel are not and we paid thousands to replace. I expect this is common across all landscaping companies and nurseries, but it definitely needs to be considered in your overall budget. As of 2024, we have lost 3 smaller trees (which we decided will not be replaced) and the replacement front tree which will cost us the install again. This is very disheartening but feel it is necessary. Delays on install - Additionally, the crews changed a couple of times which created duplicate work on the hardscape. Although this ensured it was properly completed, we feel it added to the delay of the project. Overall, we are happy with the design and end result. The company is very professional, easy to work with and they acknowledge our concerns with compassion and understanding. With this important fact, we would recommend Lawn ‘N’ Order for your project.
