Aiken dog training helped me tremendously with my 2-year-old pitbull mix. He had some stranger danger/ aggression issues which were easily worked out through a 6-week program with Alex. I was able to take my dog on a 6-hour plane ride from California after this training and anywhere I really wanted to take him he performed amazing. Three months ago my wife and I aadopted Benji, a 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog. He had a bite history at the shelter, was very fearful of men, and had severe anxiety. We immediately hired Alex for private lessons. Benji was naturally very fearful initially but Alex taught my wife and I how to train Benji with positive reinforcement. He made himself available if we had any questions or if there were any changes in Benji's behavior. We had 4 private lessons and today just finished our 4th pack walk and the amount of progress that Benji has made is incredible. From the first day where Benji wouldn't allow Alex near him to now he will take commands and allow physical contact with strangers. We are so grateful for Alex, Julie, and the rest of their growing team. There is still plenty of training to be done and we are excited to tackle new challenges with Benji and the Aiken Dog Training team.

Alex (Aiken Dog Training) is an AMAZING dog trainer and a true miracle worker! Our 2-year old King Charles Cavalier, Winston, had been struggling with fear of strangers and other dogs he doesn't know. He'd bark and pull on his leash when unfamiliar people or dogs approached and it was making walks in the neighborhood pretty stressful. He also would not come when called and had a hard time focusing when given commands (stopping, sitting, leaving objects he finds, etc). We purchased a package of 4 in-home and 2 group sessions with Alex. After our FIRST one-hour in-home session, Winston was obeying the following commands: SIT, STAY, COME, STOP. Alex showed us how to motivate Winston to obey us using praise, love and mutual trust (NOT constantly rewarding him with treats, which a previous trainer had us do that did NOT work!) He also taught us how to read Winston's body language and be in tune with when he is alerting us that he needs to go potty, etc. (no more pee accidents in the house!). Winston now listens to all our commands and has made great strides while out walking in the neighborhood. Our neighbors are amazed at the change in him! He now sits and wait patiently when new people/dogs approach until we give him permission to 'introduce' himself to them. He will now always 'come' when called no matter where in the house he is! Winston is now eager to obey and listens to commands. We now have an even closer bond with Winston and are so proud of our little guy! We are so grateful to Alex for everything he has done for us and Winston. Thank you, Alex!

We hired Mr Tamaki for our Tzu-Chon puppy training. Our puppy was like a baby vampire and now he is a total joy to be around. He knows basic commands and is starting to socialize well. We will continue training with Alex, he has been a total game changer we have learned so much. I love watching him command respect like he does. He is a dog whisperer. Truly talented and is highly skilled in his craft. Highly recommend Aiken Dog Training.

We are first time dog owners! We rescued a 2 year old german shepard, Ruby, and knew that we wanted to do training with her. We got a referral for Alex from our local pet store. From the first email, the communication with Alex and Julie was professional and prompt. The changes we saw in Ruby after our first session was fantastic... and today, after completing our private sessions, we went on our first pack walk! Being a rescue, she has been a bit anxious with socialization, so we were apprehensive about how she would do on the pack walk. Ruby did GREAT and I KNOW it is because she built a trust with us and with Alex. I cannot recommend their services enough. It was by far the best investment we made when bringing Ruby into our lives.

Our dog Archie went through the puppy basic training and we are so glad he did. He now knows how to sit stay and come and he now does very well with other dogs. Alex and Julie are truly experts in their field and it shoes in every dog that they train. We are so glad we trained Archie with them. I highly recommend their positive reinforcement based training program!

Alex is such a wonderful and passionate dog trainer! He helped train me, my fiancé, and our two large pups. My dogs are very spazzy and anxious. One in particular is crippled with anxiety and cries at just about anything. My two dogs have very different personalities, but they feed off of each other & sometimes their anxiety combined gets too much for me to handle on my own in public (where there are lots of sounds, people, OTHER DOGS, bikes, etc). Alex was very patient, kind, responsive, and knowledgeable. I’ve always been so nervous on walks because of how unpredictable my dogs can be and Alex gave me a lot of tools to train with and most importantly, confidence! I’m excited to attend pack walks soon!!

Alex is hands down an awesome trainer. I called many trainers, and no trainer wanted to train my 4 month old Whippet. Alex took on that challenge. We did the puppy class, and the canine good citizenships, and at 4 months he is Alex's youngest puppy to pass his Canine good citizenship. We will be calling Alex back to do some more training.
