I actually know Corey through my daughter and her friend group. I have always wanted to work with a physical therapist and recently had been experiencing hip pain during recreational running. I worked with Corey for 2 months and my pain has totally resolved and I’m back to running, now preparing for a 5K! I was literally a hot mess when I stumbled upon Corey’s Facebook page during one of my many mindless scrolls! I workout and workout a lot! And I love it! But my hips…not so much, and when I did his free assessment I was in a lot of hip pain which was affecting many aspects of my life, including my quality of sleep and mental capacity to function well! Corey was very intentional in listening to me, not only about my injuries but also my fears of being pulled from working out, something I was terrified he was going to tell me! But he never told me I had to stop! He had me do an activity journey which was so good for me to actually write out everything I was doing! It gave me a big reality check of why I was experiencing pain and what I could do to help improve beyond just the PT he was providing! I loved the Facebook group and being connected to like-minded individuals who were going through similar journeys as me! We had quite some good laughs and it helped to see other people succeeding with their own PT which motivated me to push through mine! I have completed the program and I now have no hip pain, my squatting movements have improved tremendously in the bottom of them and I have learned to brace through my core so much better! I also have the confidence to listen to my body and give it the rest it needs and to scale back some of my workouts when needed! Corey is a great PT and I would highly recommend giving him a try! I enjoy CrossFit and had rotator cuff surgery 10 months ago and was sharing on an over 50 CrossFit group. Corey reached out to me and we talked about the knee pain I have in both knees when walking down stairs and doing squats. I also was dealing with my feet cramping. Since having my initial assessment I complete the 11 exercises 3X a week for 3 weeks. The pain in my knees is significantly less when I walk down the stairs, I also have noticed my feet have not been cramping since I have been doing the exercises. I am able to sit straighter and deeper in squats. I am not a runner but completed my first Murph and ran 1.75 of the 2 miles and had no pain in my knees. I was a little skeptical because of the virtual aspect of this PT program. i am very impressed with the program and the improvements I have made in only 3 weeks. Corey has been great he provides so much feedback when posting videos of myself doing the exercises making sure form is correct and I get the most out of them. He provides answers to any questions quickly and makes sure that I understand what the benefit of the exercises provide and how they reduce the stress in the knees which in turn reduces the pain. So far I have found this virtual experience very positive and definitely talk about his program to friend and family. Where do I even start? I met Corey on a FB group where I was talking about some shoulder issues I was having while doing Crossfit. After talking about how he could help me, I decided to give it a go. Made some decent progress at first, then got hit with Covid. Came back from that, then got hit with huge family issues regarding a family member with Alzheimers. Came back from that, then had to have multiple surgeries on my sinuses and a leg. It was 3-4 months of some serious struggles to keep up on the therapy side of things with everything else going on. But Corey always worked with me and we always came up with a plan to keep moving forward. He was always in communication and always there with advice and adjustments so that I could stay on track with my progress. It took a little longer than we originally anticipated, but we stuck to it, and I made it to some awesome improvements including the original issue as well as addressing a couple other issues we found along the journey. Corey has helped me identify my exact areas of need, and he has provided the best research-based exercises to help me improve. I have improved my ankle mobility, hip mobility, balance, and strength, which have all contributed to me being able to run pain-free again. He has provided me with a super useful "return to running" plan that helps me slowly load the achilles without straining it too much. As a runner, it's hard to not run too much, too soon! Corey provides a great app that clearly explains when and how to do the exercises. Just before I found Corey, I had been doing a strength program with my box owner to get ready for the the 2023 Crossfit Open.It was going really well, but I knew my mobility was a missing part of my program. I knew what needed to be worked on but not enough to really help myself. Working with Corey, we honed in on my hip, ankle and squat mobility, and the results have been great! As I finished up the cycle, I competed in the Masters Fitness Collective, where I place 1st in my age group! I definitely feel that all the work I put in made me better prepared and my recovery during the comp was good, and I knew some key things to do to help it along. I am also pretty sure that I will be hitting some PR front and back squats because of the much improved mobility. I would highly recommend working with Corey. I completed a 12 week physical therapy course with Choffner PTSC and let me tell you, it changed my life. I tore the labrum in my hip 7 years ago and had surgery for it 3 years ago. I was in a place of pain, improper form due to mobility, and emotional baggage from 7 years of degradation. After working with 5 PTs and 2 chiropractors, Choffner has been the only one to help me gain my mobility back. I can now squat with perfect form and perform all hip hinge movements without pain. I recommend Choffner to anyone, but specifically, athletes or fitness enthusiasts because not only did he help me gain functionality back, it was all done while still getting to do the exercises I enjoy. The pain goes from my glutes to my toes. With no obligation Corey called me to discuss my issue and suggested seeing a physical therapist that was not virtual because of my level of pain. A few weeks later Corey reached out to me to see how PT was going. I told Corey that it did not help and I was scheduled for a lumbar fusion and a laminectomy. He said he could help with pre-hab to make the recovery process easier. I worked with Corey for 4 weeks and the exercises he gave to me helped greatly with my strength and mobility. Corey is very understanding and is in tune with your problems. He will modify any exercises that are too difficult or too painful. He is constantly in touch when you have problems or concerns. He is also a certified trainer and knows how to correct your form when performing any exercises. You will definitely benefit hiring Corey for physical therapy or training. Less
