I recommend Apollo Roofing and the Project Manager for my roof replacement, Sam Braik, without reservation.Having never had any roof work done and knowing nothing about roofs, I did enough research to be as well prepared as I could expect to be. Roof technology and materials are a lot more complicated than one might expect, so one needs to be able trust in the competence and dedication of the roofer.I got estimates from five roofing companies. Two of the companies seemed to me to be excellent, two satisfactory, and one a bit dubious.Both Sam and the project manager of the other roofing company I thought most highly of were personable, articulate, seemed very knowledgeable, and patiently answered all my questions. I finally chose Apollo over the other, even though its estimate was substantially higher, because another respected roofer (which did not have room for me in his schedule) told me that Apollo was well worth the higher price. Apollo is family-owned, has been business since 2011, and has multiple locations. It does not use sub-contractors; all its work is done by its own employees. Sam told me the work-in-progress of each project is reviewed at multiple levels within the company.The scope of work I received from Apollo was detailed, including potential additional costs (such as plywood). The proposed materials were of the highest quality. Apollo’s insurance, licensing, and warranty were as they should be. I didn’t need to contact the administrative office much, but it regularly kept me up to date, and was always responsive when I did contact it.Sam answered all my questions about the details of the estimate, and helped me figure out what adjustments would be desirable. He was continually visited the work site. He kept me informed throughout the project about what was being done. He emailed me photographs of the roof before work started, every day while it was underway, and after it had been completed. At the end of the project everything around the house was was intact and clean, and there was no remaining debris.During the course of the project, I emailed or texted Sam detailed, technical questions almost every day, amounting to a few dozen in all. He answered every question (something I have learned not to take for granted; often people just get tired of answering so many questions from a layperson). Sometimes I would email Sam ten or more detailed questions in the evening; I would receive the answers the next morning, even on the weekend. When I responded with requests for adjustments, he would see that they were made. Sam made sure that the new roof had up-to-date fire protections, including venting and gutter guards for the existing gutters. He even took the color code for my stucco paint to Home Depot and brought back a gallon of it, so I could keep on hand the three quarts he didn’t need. He also obtained and installed more than half a dozen gutter downspout extensions around the house, even though they have no direct relation to the roof. From the beginning to the end of the project, there was never an unpleasant surprise.Obviously Sam didn’t have to do everything he did after I had signed the contract and the work was underway. He is exceptionally dedicated, and is a man who is fully invested in his work.Since I have to rely on my new roof for decades, I am very happy to have the peace of mind that choosing Apollo has given me. Our ceiling showed signs of a leak last Spring, so I contacted four roofing contractors to get estimates to repair a section of our roof. However, all four representatives indicated that, after 20+ years of wear, the roof required complete replacement. After carefully reviewing the four estimates and corresponding with the job managers, I decided to proceed with Sam’s team at Apollo Roofing. They were not the lowest estimate, but after a detailed evaluation, that difference in higher pricing seemed well worth the quality and comprehensiveness of the proposed work. The job began in a timely fashion, about a month after we signed the contract with Apollo Roofing. The house is a single-storied structured, but the roof is complicated by 7 reused skylights and a combination of shingled and flat roof sections (see attached photos). As with any re-roofing job, there were unanticipated repairs and corrections needed during the course of the job, but Sam and his construction team were consistently responsive to any issues requiring attention and action to keep the job’s schedule on time. Sam thoughtfully answered and addressed all questions in a timely fashion as the job progressed, and provided useful updates with photos. Despite a few complications, the entire job was meticulously completed in a week (followed by a successful final building inspection), just as Sam had indicated. With the 50-year warranty on the installed shingles from Apollo Roofing, the new roof can be enjoyed, with peace of mind, for many years to come. Without reservation, Sam’s team at Apollo Roofing provided a smooth, timely and stress-minimized re-roofing experience. Less

Our roof has both sloped and flat areas, and had a pergola built into it causing some rot problems. Some other roofers took a look at our roof and didn't even give us a bid. Apollo gave us the best of the bids we did get. Part way through the reroof, they allowed us (the homeowners) to attach the pergola to the top of the new roof with some commercially available steel connectors, thereby eliminating the problematic way the pergola had been built into the roof. They were flexible with us because they cared about the integrity of their work. They want to make their customers happy, and definitely achieved that goal with us. Less

I chose Apollo Roofing because Vladi came across as very knowledgeable and competent in addition to being pleasant to work with. We had to wait a very long month before they would schedule our roof repair, but it was reasonable considering there were probably many others who needed their roofs repaired after the heavy rains and wind we had that winter.The crew that came out did their job quickly and cleaned up well. No qualms there. However, I was dismayed because when I looked at the new shingles that were installed they were not by any stretch of the imagination a close match to the rest of the existing roof. Yet, the crew did not mention it to us, nor did they ask us to look over the job when it was done. They just packed up and left.When Vladi came to do final check I mentioned to him that I wasn't happy. He took a look at the work asked me for the info I had previously provided Apollo regarding the shingle type and color of the existing roof. Vladi said he would check into it and get back to me. He didn't say much so truthfully I had no idea if we would have a satisfactory outcome.However, Vladi called me a few days later and said he thought he found the correct shingles and would have his crew come out to replace the mismatched ones. This all happened within a timely period.I give Apollo and Vladi a lot of credit for fixing the problem without any back and forth. Truthfully I was afraid that Apollo would be adamant and say we had to pay for the work because they had done the job and replaced the damaged section of the roof. Period. If we didn't like the replacement shingles we would have pay them again to replace the first repair job. Thankfully, that didn't happen. Vladi took care of the issue. I got several quotes and had other roofers inspect the project. Apollo was the only company that noticed that the pitch of the roof on one side wasn't amenable to shingles and if we used them, I'd likely damage the roof with pooling water. Instead they used something called "torch down". Later the inspector told me we're lucky we did that otherwise we would have failed the inspection!Nadav at Apollo was a true partner throughout the process. He inspected the roof, walked me through the quote, answered all of my questions and better yet - followed up after the first rain (even though the project was complete and paid for) to make sure I was happy with the job. He handled the permit process quickly and properly. Nadav was always there to answer my questions and made me feel like a valued customer in every interaction we had. I was concerned with maximizing the energy efficiency of my house, so the company invited me to select the brand of my choice, including their high solar reflectivity line. There was no up-charge for this selection. My rep, Simon, was very helpful in planning to improve the ventilation of my attic, and when during the installation of my new roof and vents I discovered my attic vent fan was inoperable, they installed a solar powered vent I purchased for a minimum charge. Likewise, when I decided during the work to install a skylight, Simon accommodated my request at a reasonable cost. All in all, working with Simon and company was cordial and straightforward.
