I worked at this studio for over a year, and my experience was extremely disappointing. Communication from management started out fair but quickly declined, eventually ceasing entirely. This created a tense, uncomfortable, and unprofessional work environment. The culture was toxic. I raised multiple concerns about inappropriate behavior from another employee — including subtle sexual remarks and boundary-crossing comments — and these concerns were repeatedly ignored. Staff comfort and professionalism were clearly not priorities.Favoritism and unequal work distribution were rampant, creating division among artists and apprentices.Another major concern was the owner’s business practices. Sessions were consistently priced at $2,000, which is unusually high compared to industry standards. He often had clients arrive extremely early, around 10 a.m., only to spend hours stenciling or performing minimal work, keeping them until late at night (9–12 p.m.) while taking multiple breaks, walking around, and making unrelated calls. He also used self-righteousness and “trust-building” language to encourage clients to pay, and multiple clients — including at least one pursuing legal action — have claimed to be ignored after paying large deposits without receiving services.I also witnessed unsafe and unprofessional behavior. The owner used a THC vape during client sessions and even fell from his chair one evening. The studio itself was poorly maintained: the concrete floor was never sealed, and dust was a constant issue, posing real hygiene risks that were never addressed during my time there.Overall, this was an unhealthy, unethical, and unsafe work environment. Anyone considering employment or booking a session should proceed with extreme caution and research carefully.
