We came because they accept reservations and reviews were good. Turns out they are mostly empty on Friday evening so lots of tables, since seems their main biz is takeout. Only one employee it seems, and he is the cook, so no one to help you when you arrive or bring drinks. Service was slow despite only 1 person ahead of us, but expected when there is only 1 employee. We got the chicken schwarma plate and it was fine, nothing special. Cook was so busy he asked us to add up our own ticket and tell him what we owe him. Thought about dessert, but service was so slow not sure how long it would take.

A friend mentioned this was the only Sudanese restaurant in San Francisco and honestly that alone made me want to go. Had the foul masalah, spiced fava beans with cumin, feta, olive oil — which I'd never seen on a menu before and it was genuinely special. Followed it with the lamb shank and the eggplant salad. The lamb was phenomenal. The smokiness on the eggplant was exactly right. Owner sat with us for a few minutes between orders and talked about the recipes, where they came from, why this food matters. Left feeling like I'd actually learned something alongside eating well. Rare combination.

This was a delicious little restaurant with friendly staff and great food- I went there for lunch went I was in Tenderloin for a conference, and it was quick, tasty, and got us away from the lunch crowd near the Hilton! Recommended!

Love the atmosphere. Love the service. Love the food. We got a chicken shawarma and lentil soup with tamarind juice which was delicious. It was worth the journey. Highly recommend this place. Will gladly make the walk again to enjoy good food.

We saw good reviews on the food and had lunch on 4/14/2026. We had beef kofta plate and roasted lamb bowl. The beef and lamb were very good and flavorful. The hummus was the best I ever had because it’s not sour and had the beans sweetness. I will definitely come back next time I visit San Francisco again.

Food here is great, the chicken, lamb, kofta and Flafel. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a quick middetearanean food in the city. Also ask for the hibiscus Sudanese signature juice 👌🏽clean professional and fantastic service and owner!

I am not a resident, but went because of great reviews and pictures of a clean restaurant. Had lamb shank, chopped chicken, beef plates, and humus. Food, price, service great. Flavors different. Taking more friends there, as well as boy scout group soon.
