Lola works miracles, and she is the loveliest human being.I used to play tennis regularly. I took a break over the winter two years ago and, upon returning to hard courts, I found that I’d started to experience pain in my lower back and kneecaps. I played through the pain for two years, but each time I did, it became agonisingly worse (with recovery time of at least a week). My job requires me to be on my feet and walking/climbing throughout the day. It got to the point where I was in agony just walking up staircases. I couldn’t roll or turn around in bed, and I was even scared to sneeze because of the sharp pain I would feel in my lower back. My energy levels were shot, and it reached the point where I thought I would have to give up tennis - a sport that I love.During this time, I joined a gym, thinking that strengthening my back and leg muscles would help remedy the problem. I was wrong - it did nothing. Neither did the new £150 tennis trainers I bought. I then watched a number of stretching videos on YouTube and performed them consistently over a few months, but this seemed to make the pain worse. Pilates classes didn’t help either. In the end, I went to visit Lola. After the initial consultation - which involved some pulling of my legs, rolling me around like pizza dough (to realign my spine), and a light leg and back massage - she stood there with her warm, cheerful face, smiled, and said I would need six sessions to recover. I was in disbelief. Six sessions? Impossible. But I figured, what the hell - this was my last attempt before putting it down to arthritis and old age. After the first session, she gave me a set of light stretches that took no more than ten minutes. They were simple and required hardly any effort, so I actually did them. By the time I arrived for my second session, I noticed an improvement - the pain had gone.Lola advised me to continue playing tennis (even through any discomfort), keep up with the stretches, and attend the sessions. By the time I arrived for my final session (the sixth), I was playing tennis three to four times a week at the highest level I’ve played in years - with no fear of hitting the ball and no pain at all.I am so grateful to Lola for fixing me. She has changed my life and is simply wonderful. If you’re sitting or standing somewhere reading this and wondering whether Health in Motion or Lola can help you, stop thinking and make the appointment.
