When one has a mold problem, feeling "invaded" and "dirty" are normal reactions. And you want it gone. We obtained an environmental assessment from an independent testing firm [You should do this first.] We interviewed 8 and obtained 4 proposals from mold remediation companies. The bids ranged from $4k to nearly $20k for the same work. The high bid was firm fixed price, guaranteed meet test conditions, "nuclear" option. ZeroMold wasn't the least cost but they stood above the rest with the least invasive solution to the problem. We appreciated their reasoned approach, which set them apart from others who attempted to leverage our concerns to get business. We had a very wonderful experience with ZeroMold. We reached out to ZeroMold in connection with mold remediation of an uninsulated closet that housed our old furnace. Roy was our point person and was absolutely terrific, responsive and knowledgeable about all aspects of our issue. When he met with me, he walked me through what he was seeing, and why mold was forming. He also explained exactly what the process would be for remediating the mold, and explained all of the precautions I should take - he knew exactly what I would be concerned about as a homeowner with young children. He was able to work up a reasonable quote and get me schedule for remediation the same week. He also repeatly stressed and reiterated what my action items needed to be once the mold was remediated - in my case, it was having someone come and fully insulate the closet that the furnace was located in and install a lourvered door, so that the air in the furnace closet would not stagnate and reach high humidity levels. He also suggested that I attempt to have portions of my furnace insulated further so that condensation would not be able to build and fuel further mold growth.
