The average home buying process can sometimes take anywhere up to a year to finalize, and despite that, George literally changed my life in a single month. I need to set the scene for context, because truthfully, I was probably a worst-case scenario for any realtor. I am a military veteran who had just recently got out and spent so much time away from the US that I just never had the opportunity to earn any credit my entire adult life. In the service, I had been bouncing from place to place for over a decade and my mental health from never having stable living conditions was very quickly declining and I needed to change that, fast. At some point, I made the irrational decision to start looking for places and I had spoken to various real-estate agents and all of them told me what I wanted was unrealistic and told me I was insane for trying without credit. After speaking to my bank and them agreeing to pre-approve me with non-traditional credit with a VA loan, I gave a shot-in-the-dark message to George, explaining my messy, unconventional situation but that I was motivated to do whatever it took to make things happen, and instead of turning me down like everyone else had, he had the confidence to say yes to helping me find the place of my dreams. There was a lot of stress - as there always will be with a commitment so big - but George was always calm and collected throughout the entire process. With the expert knowledge and patience of a true professional, he answered all of my crazy questions, he told me truthfully if what I was asking of was ridiculous and kept me sane throughout the entire buying process, even when things went wrong or people put us on incredibly short timelines. He went out of his way and bent over backwards to accomplish things for me in ways I hadn't expected him to, even when it was incredibly inconvenient to do so. Even though I was anxious that I would have to make big concessions on top of forking out my life savings for the property, I felt I was always in the right hands because he negotiated better deals that were more favorable to me in a sellers' market, and against many other, competing buyers, no less. It was truly and uphill battle from day one, but there is no better person than George that I would have rather had on my team. In literally one month, and against seemingly impossible odds, my whole life changed for the better and I now have a peaceful, quiet and secluded place to exist with my own little family of cats and I've never felt better. If you're looking to do the same and are motivated to do so, there's nobody better, that I would recommend more highly, than George Smith.
