I had the pleasure of working with Kemeera Nimahat as our birth and postpartum doula for the arrival of our first child, and as a new father, I couldn’t be more grateful for her incredible support throughout this life-changing journey. Her price tag was slightly more than other doulas we interviewed (we interviewed many) and let me tell you -- her value FAR exceeded my expectations. Kemeera is worth every single penny and more. From our very first meeting, Kemeera exuded warmth, confidence, and passion for her role in our family's journey. She took the time to understand our values, preferences, and concerns, ensuring that we felt heard and supported every step of the way. Her wealth of knowledge and experience gave us confidence as we prepared for the birth, and she provided us with invaluable resources and guidance to help us navigate the process with clarity and peace of mind. During labor, Kemeera was a calming and empowering presence. And her physical support was HUGE. I'm a strong guy, but Kemeera's strength and stamina during labor were a godsend. She was our rock both physically and emotionally. Postpartum, Kemeera’s care was equally outstanding. A typical day at our house with Kemeera would include a fairly elaborate African healing bath for Mom (10/10), swaddling lessons for Dad, all while whipping up two amazing meals, helping care for the baby, and somehow washing, drying, and folding multiple loads of laundry. All the while she was a true joy to have in our home and we shared so much fun and laughter. I can’t recommend Kemeera highly enough to anyone seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and nurturing doula. Her passion for her work and her genuine care for her clients shine through in everything she does. She was truly a blessing during such a pivotal time in our lives, and I will always be thankful for her.

Mamma Jamma Dance and Maternal Wellness is one of the best maternal health spaces for women in Chicago, she even educated my partner on his sacred support role. Kameera is such a trained professional she made me feel so prepared for anything that may have been intimidating including hospital procedures, rules, and staff. She informed me of my rights and taught me instrumental skills to aid myself in my birthing journey. She showed me how to strengthen my mind and nurture my body prenatal and postpartum. The traditional African body wrap really did something for my soul not just my freshly opened postpartum body. She felt like family and a midwife at the same time. She helped bring my Rainbow Baby to me safe and healthy and I'm forever grateful! Worth every penny! Thank you, Mamma Jamma!

I highly recommend this class for anyone who is pregnant or postnatal. This class is about wellness. The dance instructor/Doula UPLIFTS your spirits, mental, physical and emotional well-being. You meet other amazing beings and build a community of your own while on a journey that is yours. I started this class just needing to stay physically active but I received so much more. I don't mind the hour drive to class because each week I feel better in all aspects. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a class, you won't regret it. Kemeera brings a passion and knowledge to each class that's like no other. She will forever be apart of my village! SHE IS ONE AMAZING MAMMA JAMMA!!

I have to say that what I liked more than the dancing, was her realistic breaks for us pregnant women. I didn’t think I’d be as tired as I was, but she planned it perfectly to allow for multiple water breaks throughout. Additionally, the beginning (which I missed) has a labor dance we can take with us on our pregnancy journey on through the birthing process! It’s the thoughtfulness for me.
