The first session went well, and Emma confidently assured me that after all four sessions, I would look like a completely new person. However, when I asked her what products I could use post-microneedling, she didn’t seem to know, which raised some doubts. Despite this, I decided to trust her and completed all four sessions. Unfortunately, there has been no improvement in my skin—I still have acne and large pores. I’ve learned that microneedling can be a slow process and may require many more sessions than I was initially told. Emma mentioned she would follow up with me to discuss trying a laser treatment, but she never did. When I asked Emma about her qualifications, I realized I should have done more research. After speaking with a dermatologist at Kaiser, I was informed that while acne and large pores can look better, they may not completely improve. The dermatologist also advised me to seek treatment from a certified dermatologist. I’m sharing my experience to encourage others to thoroughly research and verify a practitioner’s credentials before committing to treatments. Darcy was nice but they made my acne and acne scars TEN TIMES WORSE than before! I went to see Darcy mostly to treat acne scars, as my acne had mostly (but not completely) already cleared up. After the first session I didn't notice a huge difference so in the second session she said she'd turn things up and really make the difference noticeable. She also told me that her previous clients with similar skin as mine saw a great difference after two sessions. Within a few days it became clear that the treatment had aggravated my skin. My acne is AT LEAST TEN TIMES WORSE now, as are the scars! It made them waayyy more red and deep!! I'm not even exaggerating, I've literally had multiple colleagues and relatives say "OMG what happened to your face?" And that is not an exaggeration. It's now been SEVERAL MONTHS since my last treatment and my skin is still awful; I will probably be living with the damage they caused for the rest of my life. It's truly awful. If you are suffering from acne or acne scars DON'T GO HERE!! *RESPONSE to response from business:* I DEFINITELY had TWO treatments. So that is simply not accurate to say that I only had one. The first one was a walk in and she saw me right away, so maybe there isn't a record of it? I just checked my email and it says, for the appointment on 3/27 "laser treatment 2," which is maybe an indication that was my second treatment, if you have that in your records. The appointments were about 3 weeks apart, which is the time frame Darcy recommended. And yes, it 100% made both my acne and scars worse. As I said, when I went in, my acne was under control; I was mostly seeking help for my existing scars. It was apparent within 24 hours of the second visit that my skin was worse; at first I thought maybe it was just a temporary reaction in response to my treatment but here we are, months later and my skin is still AWFUL. Lots of active acne AND the scars are even more visible. I hadn't seen my sister or my mother in law for a year and I saw them both, separately, in the last 8 weeks. My sister said "OMG what happened to your face?" And my mother in law said "Holy **** your face is so red, what happened!? Looks like the worst sunburn I've ever seen!!" But no, there was no sunburn, that's just the redness from all my old acne scars and new acne -- and YES, the laser DID darken my existing scars. I wish I had some ulterior motive, I honestly do. My only motive here is to hopefully spare anyone else from going through what I am now -- I paid $300 for these two treatments and now I'm going to spend thousands more just trying to correct the damage they caused.
