My spaniel Finn had only ever been groomed once. He didn’t enjoy it and we didn’t enjoy making him go through with it. I’d tried the best I could at home to keep him clean and tidy but not being much of a groomer myself he always looked tatty! I was introduced to Vanessa by another local business and I felt that Vanessa would be the person to try Finn with again. We first had a meet and treat session so Finn could get comfortable with Vanessa and the environment, followed by the full groom which was taken steadily and with great care. Finn looks and smells fabulous and I won’t hesitate to bring him back and keep him looking and feeling tip top. Thank you!

My almost 13 year old cockapoo, Rufus, had always disliked but coped with conventional grooming methods until 3 or so years ago when he became increasingly stressed by each visit to the groomers. He would take the entire day to de-stress after a groom and panic on walks if we headed in the direction of his groomer's. A google search thankfully led me in the direction of Vanessa and we have never looked back!From our initial meet and treat session, Vanessa took the time to get to know Rufus and it was clear he was very happy and relaxed in her company. The pawlour and sensory garden are such a calm and relaxing space, perfect for dogs like Rufus who are overwhelmed by the restraints of traditional grooming parlours. As a senior boy, Rufus has lots of lumps and bumps and skin concerns, Vanessa is always very attentive to his needs and goes at a pace he is comfortable with. Her holistic techniques have had such a positive impact on his grooming experience. He always looks beautiful after a groom but most importantly he always looks so content in her company when I come to collect him, sitting on her lap gazing lovingly in to her eyes to be precise!Could not recommend more highly!

My cockapoo Megan and I enjoyed meeting Vanessa and Megan soon relaxed with Vanessa and her calm and gentle approach. She explored her sensory outside space and her grooming area with the low table. As Megan has issues with crates, the outside sensory area will suit her. I am confident that Megan will respond well to Vanessa’s approach of working with the consent of the dog to build trust and reduce the common experience of stress when my dog goes to be groomed. I was very impressed.

When our previous groomer said she can no longer groom my reactive dog I was devastated and didn’t know what to do. After googling I found Vanessa and booked a phone call appointment. Her set up is clearly designed to help those dogs that need more work with the grooming process and the fact she doesn’t use restraints and takes it at the dogs pace means she managed to groom my dog twice now without any snapping which became impossible for the previous groomer. She is great at reading the dogs body language and letting them become comfortable and learn to trust which has made such a difference already and it’s only very early days. Honestly can’t recommend her enough.

My dog Patch has never been to a groomer before but he's had some skin issues and I had heard about Vanessa and wanted to work with her as he can be a bit nervous. Vanessa did a brilliant job of making him feel so settled and at home with a meet a treat, she helped me understand how to better care for his skin and it was such a lovely experience for him. He can't wait to go back!

Vanessa has made incredible progress with our nervous rescue within just a couple of visits. After an initial meet and treat, she had her first grooming appointment where she was able to make more progress than we anticipated. Best of all, when we arrived to collect our girl she was so relaxed enjoying a potter around the garden, it was a joy to see. Vanessa is highly experienced and is working wonders - we wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend!

Vanessa has been amazing with Finn, he has improved so much with her. Mostly due to her patience and understanding his body language and not pushing him. Week one we couldn't even get a hand on him, now he goes straight in for cuddles. I'm so pleased with how far he has come. He has been allowed to go at his own pace and that's very important for him. Vanessa actually cares about the dogs she looks after, it's not just a money making production line. I couldn't imagine ever taking Finn anywhere else now. My young Cavapoo pup, Ellie, is very sensitive and found going to any groomer very stressful , that is until she met Vanessa at Va Va Groom . After an initial meet and greet session where Ellie was able to meet Vanessa, and I could discuss concerns , Ellie has been going for a regular monthly groom . I see her confidence grow with every session and Ellie is obviously very comfortable being left with Vanessa . She greets Vanessa very enthusiastically and goes with her with her tail wagging . I would highly recommend Vanessa to anyone wanting their dog to have positive grooming experiences without fear or trepidation . An added bonus is that Ellie comes back looking beautiful !

I have two nervous and sensitive little schnauzers, who have had quite stressful previous experiences with groomers. I’ve moved around various groomers and, not through any fault of the groomers, they have remained quite upset by the experience. Once they knew where they were, they refused to go in. Vanessa was recommended to me by Dog Confidence trainer Vickie and we went for a meet and treat session. Having that first positive experience was vital, and they have been three times now. Each time, I’ve been pulled towards the door and they aren’t bothered when I leave them. Vanessa has really taken the time to get to know their individual personalities and recognises exactly what they need with holistic techniques. The most nervous boy has come on leaps and bounds and is happy to be brushed at home now which was impossible before. I can quite confidently say their experience with groomers has been completely changed and they’re so happy now. Thank you Vanessa for restoring our faith x

Vanessa is a very caring and accomplished groomer. My dog Freya is very nervous and being a rescue was not socialised as a puppy. However Vanessa took the time to get to get to know Freya and I and ensure Freya felt comfortable with the grooming process. We usually need to tranquilize Freya before grooming, but Freya is actually excited to visit Vanessa. I would highly recommend Vanessa.

Luca and Jackson visited for a meet and treat (highly successful!!) and their first groom today. These two little boys are extreme opposites of a happiness spectrum - Jackson is a nervous sensitive little boy and Luca is crazy happy. They have both struggled in the past with grooming and used to freeze in fear. But I could see they were so happy and comfortable in this environment, it really helped to meet Vanessa first, and of course they look amazing too! When I used to take them to the groomers they would both collapse and sleep all day probably from pure adrenaline but I’m sat with them now and they’re playing and gnawing happily on their yak chews. They were both really affectionate with her before we left so I can tell they are happy and had a wonderful experience! Vanessa puts their needs first and understands their behaviours! Fabulous - highly highly recommend!!!! ❤️ 🐾 🐾

It’s so refreshing to come across a dog groomer that really puts your dogs health and happiness first! She also uses new and innovative ways to groom your dog. Can’t thank Vanessa! After a not so great experience at a previous groomers our lively puppy really struggled being brushed or groomed but Vanessa has really taken her time to help build up his confidence and desensitise him to all aspects of the grooming process that he absolutely loves going to her (literally runs and pulls his way in as soon as he sees the door) which is so lovely and comforting to see! Even though there’s still room to develop his tolerance levels I know he’s in the best and safest hands to help him!

Our Chow Chow, Teddy has previously found grooming stressful, he does not like the noise of the hair dryers. We have found that other groomers, who take a conventional approach of leashing him and going about a groom in a functional manner, have left him highly stressed. From the outset, Vanessa took a calm and caring approach. She took the time to meet us and Teddy, so that he became used to her and the environment. She is a holistic groomer, who adapts her approach to the animals welfare and needs. She groomed Teddy today, did an excellent job, and we would highly recommend her personalised and professional service. Finally found the right groomer for Teddy.

We wouldn’t go anywhere else now! Vanessa is absolutely amazing with our cocker spaniel Millie! Millie never used to enjoy having a groom at previous grooming salons, but Vanessa is always so patient and caring with her! She makes her grooms fun with games, puzzles and treats! Her salon has a beautiful outdoor area for Millie to play and enjoy herself whilst being groomed. She has taken the time to build Millie’s trust and make sure she feels happy and comfortable.
