In June, my partner David (64 years old) reached out to Well Life to establish a new primary care physician. The office made an appointment for him with Kate Dolezal, FNP. At our visit, my partner indicated that his primary concern was the presentation of heart palpitations and chest pains that had gotten worse in recent weeks. We tried to give Kate all the information regarding David’s health history and current health status. However, Kate asked few questions. Even more surprising, after we left the office we realized that Kate had 1) not put in a request for a holter monitor to record David’s heart episodes 2) had not even listened to his heart or lungs during our visit and 3) did not order standard blood tests for the presentation of heart issues like thyroid, magnesium, and cholesterol tests. David went back to the office to request the holter monitor and after wearing it for a week we learned that he had a very concerning V-tach (ventricular tachycardia) episode. We discovered that V-tach can be a very serious condition that can lead to cardiac arrest. If David had not insisted on getting the monitor, who knows what may have occurred before we were able to see a cardiologist and get to the root cause of the problem. We had chosen Well Life because online the medical practice seemed to align with our values for holistic and integrated preventive health care. However, we have been sorely disappointed with the lack of thorough evaluation during our visit with Kate, her lack of expertise, and the lack of timely and adequate follow through. The vision of Well Life as expressed on their website is a good idea, but our experience was a far cry from what they advertise and what we expect for competent integrated health care. Less

Kate Dolezal is always great with my babies - but this time we had to have iv fluids. Mind you, my son hasn’t seen a needle since his NICU stay. They allowed me to get a vitamin bag right before him to show him what it was like. The two girls in there were phenomenal and have brought me to tears thinking about their care for my son. He said “ouch” when he was stuck, then hung out for 30 minutes and eventually fell asleep. This place is amazing and we are truly blessed with each and every staff member here! And she never followed up with me like she said she would about something I was needing. When I called her to follow up, she was annoyed and never even apologized for forgetting. I told her thank you, still trying to be courteous, hoping she would return the gesture, and she just hung up. Dr. Ehle, please talk these staff members about their professionalism and poor customer service. You are an amazing doctor and so are your nurs pracs, but I don't know that I can go back to see you when I have to deal with your staff. I hate the way they make me feel.
