I've been here before; "Amazing new diet", "it'll work this time" followed by soul destroying disappointment, with the only pounds lost measured in sterling. I was facing the prospect that this was just my age catching up and that I would have to simply accept that my weight was starting to become my normal, miserable state of mind, but I met someone who had done Trained by Topping and had got amazing results. They were young, but what the hell, let's burn some more money banging my head against a wall.
After the initial chat with Kyle it all seemed positive, but I was sceptical that the diet would be atrocious and going to the gym would be ridiculous. I was not disappointed ...
I had never tried eating more often with more control, and not eating breakfast before meant I really struggled to eat all the meals, and getting flavour in was tough. And don't get me started on beef isolate ...
Getting back in the gym was difficult, I am not a fan of public exercise, but I wanted to learn the new routines and give this a good go, at least for a couple of weeks.
However, after the first week I had lost a kilogram. I raised a cautious eyebrow at the scales and put it down to change of diet and water loss.
After five weeks I had lost 4.5 kilos, I was a dab hand at squeezing taste from the diet and was doing well at the gym. Anything I had any problems with, like specific foods that I had tired of, or exercises that didn't suit, I just contacted Kyle and the team who gladly adjusted them. Combine this with regular online check-ins and it felt like I had the support I needed to actually crack this. They were always there for me.
No weight loss is linear, but I continued to lose weight and tone my body at a rate steady enough to keep any cynic appeased and I got a real momentum going, enough to get me through the Christmas period whilst still eating plenty of food I hadn't touched in months. A week or so later I was back to where I was.
I have now smashed my target and am in the best shape of my life thanks to Kyle. I am introducing more interesting food and staying with the theories that he introduced me to. Don't get me wrong, Kyle didn't do any of my exercises for me, he didn't cook me any food (selfish), but damn, he's changed my life. So much so that I have become almost evangelical, preaching how good the programme is to anyone who is interested (and some that aren't, but should be). If only I had known about this a long time ago.
If you're even contemplating doing this, stop, just get on with it, you'll never get a better return for your money, you'll never get better results that last and you'll never look back.
