This is to comment on the most recent review regarding this practice and lens thickness. As an optician, I feel compelled to clarify this review because I was literally sitting in the lobby when you came in to pick up your glasses and observed the entire interaction.I watched the optician re-measure, review, and physically demonstrate—side by side—that your new lenses were, in fact, thinner than your previous lenses, even though your prior pair was in a smaller frame. This was shown clearly, explained patiently, and supported by standard optical principles. The measurements were corrected and the optics were reviewed in real time.Lens thickness is dictated by prescription strength, frame size and shape, lens material, and centration. These are not opinions, and they are not overridden by requesting “the thinnest lenses.” They are simply physics.I also want to note that I personally get my glasses from this practice and continue to do so because they are consistently transparent, upfront about limitations, and reliable in delivering exactly what is realistically achievable for each prescription. Clear expectations are always set, and they are met. What I observed during your visit was a knowledgeable optician calmly explaining optical realities and correcting misunderstandings—not inexperience or error. Disagreement with those realities does not make them incorrect.Education matters. Optical science is not a matter of personal belief or cable-news-level interpretation, and it may be best pursued elsewhere if that’s the framework being applied.I was there. I watched it happen.
