I originally called this company for a turf installation quote, but he ended up transforming my entire backyard. I intended to get separate quotes. The project altogether was 1. to install 350 sq feet of pet-friendly turf in the backyard that is too shady for consistent grass 2. to demo and repave a very old, broken-up 1000 sq foot driveway 3. build a new property line fence that my neighbor would be happy with: ( see "before" ugly pix attached )This was a huge project for me with a limited budget. I am a divorced semi - retired lady landlord with 2 rental units whose repairs always came first. It is also stressful with a huge cement driveway demolition , neighbors and tenants to consider. Daniel and his crews timed each part well ( start with the fence!) It took 2 weeks with prep and weather delays but so so worth it!I got 7 quotes and a lot of crappy advice from others. Half the contractors dismissed my drainage concerns and slope issues, or were much more expensive. Daniel, the owner of TurfCity LA, worked with me. I am a worrier and have had some bad contractor experiences. I picked Daniel's firm as he gave me not the lowest price, but not the most expensive either, as he found me the smartest solutions, and is a great listener/ communicator ( I worried that some cheaper quoters would take shortcuts). Daniel well researched my drainage challenges from 5 rain spouts dumping into one bottom storm drain . It does not rain much here, but when it does, flooding can be an issue since global warming may make these storms more extreme. We went with permeable pavers in all the previously gravel areas to help mitigate rain flow, and he and his crew meticulously worked on the slope meant for rain to head toward my one storm drain perfectly (which it did in a recent heavy several-day-long storm)The turf Daniel suggested was attractive, more natural looking, and soft for the dogs, has good drainage holes, and a 15-year warranty.Make sure to maintain the turf well with Zeolite and wash all pee and picked up poop with water/enzyme solution, and it will never smell if you do so.The driveway is gorgeous with 3500 psi cement and tightly framed #3 and #4 rebar and has absolutely no cracks anywhere ( see pix)The permeable pavers were laid in an unconventional area where a large old tree once stood, and clay sewer line repairs had been done. The crew had to work furiously hard to rid that area of as many old roots and the stump to prevent the area from cratering later. They compacted the soil and rocks well. The pavers were laid in a beautiful weave pattern and cut very elegantly. The crew protected my sewer line, capped the old sprinkler lines, and we tested all lines several times to make sure there were no leaks ( Tip: if you do a driveway or Turf or a lot of cement work, make sure to know where ALL your gas, sewer, sprinkler, and plumbing lines are before you start digging!)The 37-foot-long redwood fence was exactly what my neighbor and I hoped for and more! His quote was $1300 under another fence builder's but it was also because he could bundle it in with the bigger jobs. Elegantly designed fence built in one day, solidly installed, and tweaked to make sure our dogs did not dig under to visit each other. This new yard is their favorite playground, and I'm throwing an outdoor party to celebrate how gorgeous it now is. So so happy I did this with TurfCity LA aka Renom Construction and the boss Daniel ( not to be confused Turf Land, which has some worrisome reviews)This upgrade made my year
