I have a serious rule about supporting black businesses, even when I am upset. I NEVER leave a bad review. But this company hurt my child and I find it immoral not to let other parents know what they are capable of.First, I’ll say my daughter has learned a lot with them and her dancing and self esteem has improved tremendously. Rest assured, however, I’ve had to pay for every thing she learned but she’s my daughter and worth the investment. Unfortunately, her self esteem is about to take a hit because I have to share the following details with her too and it’s all so pointless. The company is dishonest. I’m noticing that there are no real responses here regarding the dance team. Well my daughter tried out and made the team but when I followed up with the administration including Mrs Bee, they were very unprofessional and told me that the team was reserved for more “committed students.” To be clear, we missed 2 weeks due to summer break and They were also closed. When we returned, I sought clarification for the termination and they offered to let my child return to pay for additional dance lessons, but would not address her being on the team. Confused, I informed them about how important this was for my daughter‘s self-esteem and if they could please give me an update regarding why my daughter was dismissed so that I could tell her in a way that wouldn’t leave her feeling rejected and hurt. I scheduled two appointments to speak with Mrs. Bee via her virtual link. The first one said to meet her in person, so I left on my to meet her at her office, I learned that she was not there, but her husband advised that she was available for a virtual appointment 30 minutes earlier. I showed him my confirmation email which stated that the location was at the office, and at the time I was present and he didn’t respond. He did say that he would be sure to send me a link for the second appointment that I scheduled right in front of him. When I realized I did not get a link for that appointment, I emailed them and learned that my email have been sent to spam. Because I thought it was an over reaction, I emailed them from my second email to learn that that one was also sent to spam. They blocked me after removing my daughter from the dance team with no explanation. To be honest, I don’t think a dance team exists. From the meetings, I attended, there was only One other girl there. But when my daughter tried out, she said they were about five or six, I believe these are people who are close to the owner and not real dancers from the community. Either way, they got my daughter’s hopes up and very cowardly trampled on her feelings. If they didn’t want my daughter on the team, they could’ve politely said that. Instead, they had her hopes up only to dash them down and leave me, the unsuspecting parent, as the one To put the pieces back together. I have no idea what I’m gonna tell my daughter, who is looking forward to this experience, but the fact that they couldn’t ethically or morally find a way to tell a child that they couldn’t participate on the dance team, let me know that they really don’t care about the children whom they say they serve with heart and passion. Furthermore, blocking a parent who is holding you accountable for slighting their child instead of speaking with the parent in a mature manner shows you the character of these people.I’ve invested $1,000’s in my daughter’s dance career and she deserved more than this. Parents beware.
