Sharkeys is awesome! Our 4 year old with sensory processing disorder has a very hard time with haircuts. When we took him the first time, David was so kind and patient and did a fantastic job cutting our son’s hair. Now our son loves going and always is excited! We recently toon our two year old for the first time and they did great with him too. Worth every penny!

Madeline and Melissa or Marissa (I am not certain her name sorry!) and then the guy who works there are all above and beyond and kind. It was time for my son to get a haircut big time. I usually would cut my kids hair myself and I wanted to do something special for his first professional haircut so I chose Sharkey's in Carlsbad! My son was dreading it and very upset until he spotted the shark character in the front and upon walking in, it was just so stunning and fun! He immediately just looked around with big eyes and was excited to get a haircut all of a sudden of course lol. Even my daughter didn't really need a haircut but ended up getting a little trim and some layers and Madeline did my daughter's hair and just went above and beyond. She was super fun and cute with my daughter. Everyone there is so awesome and cool. Luckily, the next time my kids need or want a new hairstyle or cut, I will be bringing them here again. <3

My autistic kiddo has never been a fan of haircuts. He is 7 and never been to a salon or barbershop. The experience at hone has been traumatic for us both.. the noise, the hair, the itchyness.. I heard about this amazing stylist that had a vacuum-clipper and I had to inquire! I am SO happy and relieved to have found David!! We just left from his 1st salon haircut and it was an absolutely amazing experience!! Best haircut he has ever had! No tears, no screams, no itchy hair falling!! He was entertained and engaging with David. I was floored and so proud of my little man! David was so patient, gentle, fun and informative and I could tell my son was comfortable with him. Little man looks so handsome and smiling big!! Huge win!!!! Even got a ballon at the end! We have a new stylist for life now! Highly recommend David and Sharkeys Carlsbad-clean, fun, autism friendly:) :) :)

David is fantastic! The only salon my autistic son will go to and have zero issues. He uses a vacuum attached to his clippers so no hair calls on the kiddos. Highly recommend!

This place was amazing. We had David and my son hates haircuts and will scream through the whole things. From the first greeting David made a calming presence and settled my son down. He had a great vacuum clipper system that didn’t allow hair on my Son. My son stopped crying at the beginning and didn’t shed a tear throughout. This place was awesome and so inviting, will be back in 6 weeks with David. Thank you so much making this experience for my son so easy! I truly appreciate it!’

What a relief to have found David - my 2.5 year son abhors haircuts and typically screams, cries, and scratches the entire time. This is the 3rd place we’ve tried and for the first time - no tears! David has a vacuum attachment for clippers that makes a huge difference - I guess a lot of the distress comes from feeling the hair getting snipped off so this was a game changer. David also has lots of playful tricks to keep kids distracted, and is okay to cut their hair if they’re sitting on your lap. So relieved that haircuts will no longer be a stressful experience. Highly recommend! They were so patient with my 12 month old that we came back for his second haircut a few months later! They made him feel so comfortable with all the tools they used and we ended up with a tear-free experience! The haircut looks so good too. I’ll definitely be going back.
