We've been sending our kids to Calphin for more than four years, and I'm so glad we chose this swim school. From the beginning, our goal wasn't just for our kids to feel comfortable in the water -- we wanted them to truly learn how to swim with proper skills and confidence. I still believe Calphin has been the right place for that. We've had great experiences with many of the coaches. Some of our favorites include Coach Julia (though I'm not sure if she's still at the Dublin location), Coach Reb.

This is an absolutely terrible place. I brought my two children for a trial lesson, and the experience was appalling from start to finish.First, the facility is overcrowded. They cram four children into a single narrow lane, leaving no room for actual swimming. While there are many instructors, most looked exhausted and completely lacked any passion for teaching.The most disturbing part was the toxic behavior of the coaches. My daughter came to me in tears after her lesson, telling me she never wanted to return. She overheard multiple instructors openly mocking the students. According to her, they were loudly calling the children "losers" for not learning fast enough, and referring to them as "little monsters" and "crybabies." My daughter was shocked and felt incredibly unsafe. It is clear these instructors have no patience or respect for children. Why are they even in this profession?While my other child's coach was slightly better, they spent the last 10 minutes of the session chatting about their after-work plans, leaving my child just sitting in the water doing nothing.When I requested a refund, the manager tried to pressure us into trying another coach. My daughter bravely told her, "All your coaches were just cursing at the kids; I don't want to come back." Despite promising a refund and a check, the facility went silent and ignored my follow-ups. I eventually had to contact my bank to dispute the charges.To all parents: Please do not just sit on your phones during lessons. You need to hear how these people talk about your children. I highly DISCOURAGE anyone from coming here. This place is unprofessional, overcrowded, and emotionally damaging to kids.

Staff is mostly male teenagers with zero child interaction skills, bathrooms are disgusting (looking at you, family restroom changing station). Cool wall art, I guess?

My kids have been learning to swim at Calphin for several years, starting from the bubbler level. The program is very well structured and focuses on building strong fundamentals from the beginning. The coaches are patient and attentive, and take the time to correct techniques and ensure proper form, which has helped my kids build a solid foundation in all four swim strokes. If you are looking for a place where your child can learn real swimming--not just basic water comfort or fun time in the water with a coach --this is the right place. I have recommended Calphin to parents of my kids' friends and they are very satisfied with it.

I recently enrolled my pre schooler in calphin swim academy and I'm so impressed with this academy especially Coach Arthur. I'm amazed to see he learned so much in just few classes with coach Arthur that he didn't learn at ASA even in last 2 years! I highly recommend it.

Waste of money. My kid attended same level for 4 times but still failed. They are not teaching anything. They just crowd the pool with 5-6 kids and give kids basic info , don't correct their mistakes .Don't give suggestions to kids to improve. trainers just sit in the pool and chit chat with deck supervisors that's it.

The coach are only talking to each other. They dont concentrate on the children lack beings.After the test they say we need to work on this for your child. what they do the whole session then! Not happy with the coach answer given.

I was nervous about going back to swimming after a long break but our assigned instructor made it quite easy, smooth and comfortable. Karen is an amazing instructor with friendly demeanor and great teaching skills.

Karen is a great coach! Very patient, polite, supportive and always positive. She continued to work on my fear of water which can be very challenging especially for an adult learner. Thank you!

My parents recently retired and wanted to learn how to swim, so I signed up them for private lessons with an instructor. The team at Calphin helped answered my questions and found me an instructor that spoke Mandarin, which was extremely helpful since there's a language barrier! Location is convenient for them and they are having a blast!

THIS IS IT. I learned a lot HERE, must go, crazy awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My parents are thrilled! Shout-out to coaches Sam and Spencer! They helped me more than possible. I turned from 50 yard free 1:23 to 44 in 1 year!!!!! go here. THIS IS GOATED.

Nancy is an awesome person ! The whole experience of Calphin has become so positive with Nancy around. She helped and navigated me for my query and thank her so much . Earlier to deal with any questions or concerns I'm Calphin was a nightmare. Shout out to Nancy for turning into a positive environment

My daughter has been attending Calphin for over 5 months from initially intimidated by the water to now excited about her weekly class. We are very happy with the program so far. The teachers are very nice and patient with each kid.

My daughter started with Calphin starting from bubbler. and she learned from the best and now has the great form and got compliments from others when she swims at public. We went to other swim teams but her forms just get worse because team only focuses on volume and coaches don't give individual feedback and we switched back to calphin this summer. She is now at challenger level and we definitely love calphin! This is the only place where i see coaches gives constant feedback to every single kid

My 7 years old son enjoy the class in here . Very nice coach. And the front desk the lady who named Nancy she is very helpful and friendly. I recommend this nice swimming pool.

My two sons have been swimming at Calphin for a few years. I'm excited to say they shaped up their customer service. Nancy the front desk has been incredible to work with and always go above and beyond to solve my questions. Thank you, Nancy! Calphin is lucky to have you. Lastly, the coaches are great here. You won't be disappointed.

We have been going to Calphin for about 3 months now for my older son. He had completed his medal at another swim academy, however he still had deficiencies in his swimming technique - and with corrections from Coach Bobby was able to make great progress over the summer. Cut to now, my younger son has also joined and is making good progress in the smaller swimming pool. Nancy at front desk was very helpful in helping us find the right class timings. I highly recommend Calphin Dublin for parents trying to find the right swim academy in the East Bay.
