My instructor for the lifeguard course was Mr. Herron from 8th - 9th May. He was able to demonstrate, and explain each of the lifesaving technique clearly, and will check with his trainees for understanding. He is very encouraging, motiving and will ensure that his trainees are able to execute the technique with confidence (Doing the technique multiple times and giving words of encouragement).He also builds rapport with his trainees while also maintaining professionalism and ensure safety is observe during the 2-days lifeguard course, small things like making sure we are hydrated, checking if everyone is okay, and checking our understanding.Overall he is a great and very motiving instructor. I was really fortunate to have Mr. Herron as our instructor for the lifeguard training at Swimwerks, which I recently finished.  He gave an outstanding performance from beginning to end.  Every course demonstrated his extensive understanding of lifeguarding procedures, first aid, and water safety, and he presented the material with enthusiasm and clarity.Throughout the training, Mr. Herron's instruction and unwavering patience were what really stood out. I joined the swim instructor class with the intent to learn how to teach others to swim. The class was well structured, in a clean and pleasant environment and professionally delivered. Content was to the point. The pool lesson was at the same building as the theory class, and it included demonstrations and hands on practice with the various swim teaching aids. For those wishing to enter the local swim teaching market, the course instructor was open to explain common practices, pitfalls, charge out rates, industry segmentation etc. I would say all in all it was money and time well spend, and a very good return in terms of knowledge. Great trainer, great class! I registered myself for the SSI training and was taught by Herron. He conducted the training in a very structured and systematic manner, infusing both theory and real experiences. Tough topics were broken down "bite-size" so that we could understand better.Throughout the class, Herron allowed us to share or ask questions - it was not a "one-way" session. And my class was awesome too, they had so much energy and were eager to learn!
