Note: I am posting on behalf of my 70-something year old parents who are now regulars at RPT. For background, I am a dietitian and do powerlifting and distance running myself.Earlier this year, I was talking to my parents about their fitness routine. They are active - they walk regularly, do yard work, and my mom occasionally would go to a commercial gym and bee-bop around with machines not really knowing what to do or what she was doing. My concern was that my parents weren't doing enough to fight the phenomenon of "age-related muscle decline" and not doing enough to strengthen their bones and muscles to maintain a good quality of life as they continue to get older.I wanted to find them a gym that wouldn't be so much pressure as 1:1 training (they travel a lot now, so there is need for flexibility with scheduling and payment), and I don't think my dad would ever go for 1:1 training anyway. Enter RPT: the perfect setup of small group training where they can sign up at their convience for classes, enjoy socialization with other people, not feel intimidated, and pause membership as needed for long trips.My dad was against the idea at first - but somehow was convinced to go to a free session. After that - he was sold! Trey knows how to challenge them juuuuust right, even as they progress, and he makes sure they have proper form to avoid injury. In a short few months, my parents had already had documented increased muscle mass on the InBody body composition measurement device that RPT uses to show progress (I am a huge fan of InBody devices!).So for all of you on the fence - I want to highlight that it is never too late to get started with exercise and resistance training and my parents are a prime example. RPT has been so welcoming and encouraging and they look forward to the classes weekly! Can't recommend RPT enough. Cheers!
