During our travels, we stayed in various hotels across the price, quality and style spectrum. Our stay at Liberty Hall was the highlight by some margin. On arrival, the owners greeted us personally and instantly felt welcome. Our room had bags of character and charm and had all the conveniences and functionality that travel today requires. Breakfast (included in our rate) was top-class. I should have informed the staff of a food allergy before our arrival. Despite my mistake, an alternative was graciously offered without any stress or fuss. Overall, our two nights at the hotel were comfortable, relaxed, enjoyable, personal and memorable for all the right reasons. We most certainly will book again. I'd recommend booking well in advance as this beautiful home has a limited number of rooms. Its proximity to Clemson and the university will likely mean this fantastic property will be in high demand. We wish the new owners all the very best in their plans to evolve and enhance what is already a charming bed and breakfast hotel. We will most certainly be booking again. Less

Mike is an excellent chef, who has honed in on his craft by bringing to the table timeless recipes passed down from his mother. The B&B has undergone a couple transformations and remodeling since it's early 1840 days, but Mike and Angela have made every effort to maintain the historical charm of the house, which offers 10 bedrooms, 2 massive decks where you can sit and enjoy a calm evening, a front porch and a balcony with rockers, ample parking space, a dining, living, and standing rooms. My wife and I did not get a chance to book one of the larger rooms due to occupancy being at its peak for the Clemson University Family Day, but the truth is, none of that mattered as Mike and Angela more than made up for it with their conversations and attention to detail - truth is, we were out for most of the day anyway. The place is kept in immaculate condition. Every single common area is sparkling clean, the property is well maintained, and EVERY SINGLE guest was also very cortious and respectful - we even made some new friends! We really appreciated that the B&B was within walking distance (10 minutes or 1/3 of a mile) from the Pendleton Square which offers numerous food choices. It was nice not to have to drive to dinner. What a lovely place! Super clean! My husband and I throughly enjoyed the Hydrangea Room. The breakfast was delicious each morning, and the service was wonderful. I gave the room 4/5 stars for the following reasons: 1. The pillows were a bit flat and should be replaced; 2. The location of that room is second floor/front and the security lights shine very brightly in the room all night. (I would suggest either installing curtains to pull over the existing blinds, or providing sleep masks.); 3. The bathroom has a clawfoot tub, with a shower, which we loved; however, the bath mat had no gripping on the bottom, so when stepping out of the tub it was VERY slippery; 4. We stayed two nights and did not get a room refresh. We ended up having to call innkeeper to get towels from another unoccupied room because they were off property. My recommendation would be to make it clear on your website that you do not offer this service, and provide two towels per person, instead of one. (I did hang my one towel to use again, but wanted a second because I wanted to wash my hair.) I hope this doesn't come off as being super picky, we loved the property! Less

The place is quite pretty, and there’s enough parking available. There are complimentary snacks and water available near the entrance. It was interesting to read about the history of the place, and how it arrived to and became what it is today. It’s pretty close to Clemson University and Pendleton Square is nearby with a bunch of restaurants, bars and other cool spots. I highly recommend it. Thank you hosts! We feel so lucky to have come across this beautiful bed and breakfast! We rented this gorgeous 10 bedroom home for my sister's wedding party and it was a such a special experience. It is a very clean and wonderfully maintained bed and breakfast with accommodating staff. The breakfasts each morning were so delicious and unique! We happened upon it on a ladies day out and knew right away that it was the spot! It is so picturesque with wonderful natural light, high ceilings, hardwood floors and lovely furniture. There are at least 4 different porches for guests to enjoy with rocking chairs to both relax and add to the southern ambiance! The grounds are also beautifully maintained with flowers and flowering bushes and trees on all sides! It is close to Clemson and easy to get to, which makes it a great place to stay overnight. It has several fine restaurants and shops. Although we had a car, we took an Uber to and from the Clemson campus for the game in Death Valley. Liberty Hall thinks of everything: dozens of board games in the family/sitting room lined the shelves, a pickleball court with paddles available just out back, wrap around porches on first and second floors with rocking chairs and dinette tables, bottled water, coffee, and snacks displayed and ready for guests, and high-ceilinged rooms with heirloom furniture and experience of a Southern homestead. Andy, Devon and the co owners Mike and Angela were not only the perfect hosts but did everything to help you make the most of your time in and around the pretty small Town of Pendleton. Trips to neighboring Clemson and Greenville were convenient and rewarding. And last but not least were Andy’s outstanding breakfasts in their gorgeous dining rooms. Again it was about making their guests comfortable and content while enjoying a breakfast you want to photograph to show your friends back home. We had a surprising time at the local Swamp Fox distillery, 1826 farm to table high caliber but comfortable restaurant as well as the Blue Heron. But their charming welcomes and sincere kindnesses, warmth, and helpfulness, showed true Southern hospitality at its best! We truly felt like old friends soon after arriving. Scrumptious breakfasts greeted us each morning at 8:30 am., followed by mouthwatering pastries in the afternoons and evenings. It was difficult to find reason to wander off past the sweeping porches. The Inn has been carefully restored with beautiful and comfortable furnishings that enhance the 1849 circa architecture. It offers 10 spacious guest rooms, a library/game room, a large glassed-in sitting area, and sunny dining room. Our guestroom was HUGE, by hotel standards, and featured a comfy king -sized bed, large TV, WiFI, small bathroom with shower, and private porch. Wherever we live, Clemson will always be home to us. My first time at any b&b was completely wonderful! I felt like a princess! I especially enjoyed the privacy of my comfy room, as well as the common areas to dine and socialize. We walked to the town square for shopping and a local theatre, both very nice. Rooms are great and well equipped with things you need - like sound machines for light sleepers and your own tv and coffee supplies for a relaxing morning. This is a very old, carefully restored home and the owner, Susan, is such a wonderful person and very attentive to your needs.
