Where to even begin. I had no idea 9yrs ago when i first interviewed Gwen how massively she would impact our lives. She listened where others would not. She loved and supported me through my 1st home-birth after 3 traumatic hospital births. She went above and beyond and helped heal my son who was so over loaded with toxins at the time. Gwendolyn saved my life & the life of my twins in utero. As my midwife, we planned to home birth but she knew when medical emergencies were needed to be addressed in a hospital setting. Despite PTSD from my 1st birth 9 years ago, she managed to guide me over the phone & advise the paramedic who helped save my life on the way to an emergency c section. Her advice & wisdom from the Lord helped my babies begin to move again. I’d have never known I was hemmoraghing & to call an ambulance if it weren’t for her humility & help. One of my twins is now named after her, Wendolyn. We will always be forever grateful for her love & support even though our time was brief together as we started our journey only a few weeks before the babies came. I have taken some time to think about what exactly to put in this review. I am not normally one to write them. But Dr. Gwen changed my life. She changed my family's life. She helped my sweet 6 year old son who was suffering so terribly. And she never left his side. Here is our story: in Aug of 2023 my then 5 year old started complaining of his tummy hurting and feeling like throw up. He never threw up. Fever gone within a couple days. But the pain. The pain that would soon consume our lives stayed. Weeks went by. I contacted his MD, blood work was ran. It showed nothing. Exams were done weeks after that. Nothing. weeks and months went by. x rays were done. More blood work. My once sweet energetic happy boy was riddled with pain. Pain so bad he would slam himself into walls, furniture, us, our dogs. Pain so bad he would scream and cry and we couldn't even leave the house. He looked pale. The Dr eventually told me that he couldn't find the source of the pain. That it would be impossible. That my son would grow out of it. That me worrying was the source of my sons constant fight with stomach pain. We were treated like my son was just a child with a random tummy ache. But deep in my heart I knew there was something terribly wrong. I felt I was racing the clock to find out. In these 9 months of this my son was placed on so many medications and supplements I lost count. I was desperate. willing to try anything. Then. Dr. Gwen. She listened. she didn't dismiss me when I called her crying begging her to help. I didn't know with what. I didn't know how. but I knew my son needed help. At this point his stools were full of mucus and mushy. And he had been in such horrific pain for so long that he wasn't my happy boy anymore. He was angry, living in constant outbursts and meltdowns and nightmares and tears. I missed my son. Dr. Gwen instantly came to our aid. Right then and there she came up with a plan. she ordered multiple stool samples to be ran and in the mean time, she started giving it her all to help his pain. when the results came back it came back as Cdiff, he was positive for both toxins A and B. We were shocked. Dr. Gwen quickly started him on treatment, monitoring him day and night. gave us the choices and options, worked with his other Dr's. Changed his diet to eliminate all triggering foods. it took a few months for the pain to go away. It took the healing hands of Jesus. But Dr. Gwen never gave up, never stopped caring, never stopped loving. And because of her quick diagnosis, and giving us all our options, I will be forever grateful! Less

Dr. Gwen Posey has become so much more than just our family’s physician. I met her when I was a young, scared, about to be 2nd time mama looking for a midwife that I could trust to support me through my homebirth. That was 11 years ago, and she’s been there for our family ever since! She has been our midwife for four of our five children (absolutely would have chosen her for our first had I known of her back then!), helped us through any health questions and concerns, got us in for appointments even if it was pretty last minute, given countless pieces of advice as our physician, and become such a cherished friend. We are exceptionally particular about who we trust with our family’s healthcare, but Gwen is one that we never have to worry about if she has our best interest at heart.
