AVOID AVOID, AVOID.This has to be one of the worst hair appointments I’ve ever had in my life. The main stylist, Khota, is rude! She doesn’t pay attention to what the client wants. I showed her & her daughter a pic of the bob I wanted. She ended up braiding to an awkward length and saying she couldn’t burn the ends bc she had already put mousse on.She also didn’t know how to burn the ends with a flat iron & refused to learn how. I had to go back and she still couldn’t style the braids in. When I went back, she made me wait while she picked up her daughter even though we had already agreed to that time.If you like a stylist steamrolling you and wasting your time go here.

I’ve been going to Maya’s for over 3 years and have always appreciated the convenience of getting last-minute braid appointments. However, I was really disappointed with my most recent visit. I asked for Fulani braids and even shared a reference photo, but the cornrow section was done so tightly that there was no visible scalp on the sides. I’ve been getting my hair braided since I was 8, so I understand some tightness is normal—but after 4 days, the pain hadn’t subsided and I had to take them out early, which I’ve never had to do before. I also texted to share my concerns and never received a response, which added to my frustration. I truly wanted to love the style, but the discomfort and lack of follow-up were disappointing. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning after this experience.

First timer here, the females who did my hair were extremely nice. Style came out right and looks great although I expected medium knotness to be a Lil thicker(still looks great) my only issue is that the owner said the price was 185 and charged me 215. I didn't argue because it did take over 3 hrs but that's still misleading because you never know if the customer is bringing that exact amount. Otherwise everything looks good and I'll give an update on how everything lasts.

I am pleased with the services here at Maya Braiding . It is a home based salon , I went for shoulder length boho braids began at 10:00 finished at 1:30. Not bad at all they were neat and very pretty. They do accept electronic payment. I will be going back!

Wanted to wait until a week after the braiding was complete to see if the soreness would subside lol. I'm new to the area and was in desperate need of a same-day hair appointment so I looked to an African braiding salon For the quickest and most reasonable prices. Maya and her assistant were wonderful and very attentive to the style I requested. After searching through Google and locating them, all it took was one phone call and A text message detailing pictures of the work I wanted re-created for them to see me within the next hour! Ended up paying 160 for large butt length boho knotless. My natural hair is also extremely short, but that grip is crucial and will leave you with a painful headache for a week or so. If you're a tenderhearted, I would recommend you let your hair grow out at least three inches If you're tender headed. Thanks again! Will definitely be back

If you need an honest review, you have found it. First, the lady who did my hair was fast… that I can give to her but she was just rude and mean. I asked for her to change my size she was fussing with me. Before hand she says my hair will be a certain price but I go there and she changes it to make it 30$ more. NOW, the real reason she got a zero was for her technique. I asked for soft locs, she did them and they are neat but they are stiff, hard, and she did not do them right. This woman needs to be stopped. I feel robbed and I’m in too much pain!!!

I’m am very pleased with my hair. I went to Maya’s hair braiding and Ms. Mary did an amazing job on my hair. She started around 4:00 pm and we were done around 8:30 pm. Very please with my hair. Thanks so much 😀
