I really wanted to enjoy this gym because there are some genuinely great people here. One of the owners, Dan, has always been kind, welcoming, and professional. He made me feel comfortable when I first joined, and I truly appreciate the positive attitude he brings.Unfortunately, my overall experience has been disappointing. The culture felt very cliquish and, at times, intimidating. As someone who is there to improve my own fitness—not compete with everyone else—I often felt like the environment was more about proving who was the strongest than supporting people at different fitness levels. During strength workouts, especially bench pressing, it was difficult to find spotters who were encouraging and respectful. Instead of feeling welcomed, I often felt uncomfortable and out of place. The final disappointment came when my boyfriend stopped by to pick up a T-shirt that I had already purchased. He had an extremely poor customer service experience with Coach Chrissy. The interaction was unnecessarily rude and left both of us feeling like we were inconveniencing her simply by picking up merchandise that had already been paid for. Customer service should make members and their families feel welcome, and unfortunately that was not our experience.I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, and I recognize that one person does not represent an entire business. Dan’s professionalism and welcoming attitude deserve recognition. However, a gym’s culture is shaped by every interaction, and unfortunately my overall experience left me feeling that this simply wasn’t the right fit for me.I hope this feedback is taken constructively because I believe every member—regardless of their experience level or how much they lift—deserves to feel supported, respected, and welcome.
