Dr. Simin has managed to reverse some of the damage and I'm a good road to recovery without having lost any teeth.My situation arose when one of my molar teeth felt loose. I had complained to my regular dentist that my gums were constantly bleeding when brushing, and although his dentistry is very good, did not commit to the issue and educate me in the same way that Dr. Simin did.With Surbiton Smile Centre, it was the first time that I became familiar with "pockets", and I had some pockets as deep as 15mm, with many in the region of 8mm. There was decay under a couple of teeth and significant bone loss. I have had minimal fillings in my life, always maintained good dental hygiene, but was slack with flossing and visiting the hygienist ( they all tell you to floss and no one consistently does - do you!). What I was not aware of, are these "pockets" under the gum line, and a concept of root planning. This is the real reason you visit the Hygienist - so they can get the plaque out from under the gum line, out of these pockets.In the end, Dr. Simin has built up some of the missing bone and treated the infections, the pockets have reduced substantially and everything is a lot more settled and stable than before.You can never replace the lost gum tissue, at best they can halt the progression of the disease, but Dr. Simin has surgically managed to rebuild some of the bone with great results.I'm very happy to recommend her services. The only thing you may need to get used to is running a bit late - because she is so absorbed in her work! Less

I could see the process starting to work within a couple of weeks! I was recommended Surbiton Smile Centre by my dentist and I am truly and utterly disappointed. I have no idea how a dental practice can bluntly rob you of your money. I went to the practice on Saturday the 13th of November, after being highly recommended by my normal dentist. The reason he recommended me was because I am looking to get my teeth straightened and he wanted a specialised orthodontist to take over my case and suggested that Invisalign might not be the best option for me long term and said I may need bracket braces. Great, here I come to my consultation with Theo at Surbiton Smile Centre. Not only did I have to wait 30 minutes because apparently, they thought I needed a translator, I was in Theo’s chair for less than 5 minutes for him to barely look at my teeth and be told to ‘choose which braces you want’. What an absolute joke. I am no dentist I can’t pick and choose my braces, I need professional advice and what would work best for me. I paid £60 for a 3 minutes consultation. Then I ‘picked’ Invisalign and was told that I would receive a ‘plan’ for my braces. Did I receive anything? Nope. What an absolute joke of practice, please anyone reading this, do NOT use this practice. I am -£60 with no braces, no plan and feeling pretty upset about the whole experience. You go to the dentist to boost your confidence and get the smile you want and you get played like a fool. Thank you Surbiton Smile Centre. If I could give 0 starts I most definitely would. Less

I have always been nervous (like many) about going to the dentist and if I know it’s going to be the slightest bit painful I get uncontrollable shakes, but I promise you, she will do the be all and end all to ensure that you are not in any pain/discomfort! I had the initial part of my root canal treatment today, and I was panicking and crying, but both Dr Soltani and her Dental Nurse took the time to reassure and comfort me (even though they were very busy). I’d say I am quite an anxious patient and have been terrified of the dentist visits for years due to several bad experiences at other practises in the past. My journey with Surbiton Smile Centre started when I cracked a tooth at home, I called up in a panic as Simin was about to close for the day, she was so friendly and welcoming scheduling me appointment within 30 minutes of my call to the practise. They made me feel at ease and talked me through my options straight away. After looking at a few Xray’s in the same appointment for my cracked tooth we talked through some of my aesthetic concerns, I had previously had some bonding work to close a gap in my front teeth at a different practise years ago, and it had been done very badly effecting my gums. I honestly thought I was going to have to live with just having bad teeth, I would never smile and was so self conscious. Luckily Simin was able to book in an appointment very quickly with me to discuss my concerns and the available options to me. For the first time in YEARS I was getting advice that wasn’t a “quick fix” but a strategic plan to fix my concerns and get the smile I wanted. They were able to discuss what would work best from not just an aesthetic point of view but a sustainable and healthy solution! ( in the past Dentists would give me quick fixtures that would break 1 year later) so this was a relief finally. I started my journey with Lingual braces (these are hidden on the back of the teeth) and were an option I had never heard of so I could keep my smile journey discreet to co-workers ect. After feeling so welcomed each time I’d enter the practise for a brace tightening my anxiety of dentists started to vanish thanks to Nilufar being so great and welcoming. I have started to get excited seeing the process of my teeth moving and looking better. During my lingual braces journey I’ve also had dental hygiene check ups where I have needed tooth fillings and wisdom tooth extractions, I have always been terrified of needles and addressing tooth problems in general but I felt very at ease and confident in the hands of Surbiton smile centre. I also had laser gum surgery a few months ago to clean off some excess gum to help with the health and aesthetics of my gums ( something unknown to me and I was so scared of) but the procedure was seamless, painless and now it looks amazing. I am a year into my journey and I am close to having my braces off! I am so thankful for this practise and I think they have cured my dentist anxiety - which I’d never thought I’d say! The filling i had just had was temporary and had cost me the best part of £250! in total i was looking at nearly £1000!! Not impressed. To add insult to injury the temporary filling came out less than 2 hours later! I'm afraid i genuinely feel conned; i wanted an extraction ( i knew the tooth was broken - i told them!) and i believe i was talked out of it so that the dentist could earn more money out of me. Now i am left with an even further damaged tooth, a lot of pain and a total dental bill easily about to run to £400 for something that should have cost no more that £150. I will not be returning. For over a year, I had been thinking of changing my dentist and going private, but actually never got around to doing so! Then one very wet lunchtime, I took refuge from the rain in the pub nearby to the Surbiton Smile Centre, called up their website and started reading the testimonials. They all sounded extremely impressive. The next day, I plucked up the courage and booked up a preliminary appointment for my dental examination. Wow, what a difference! Obviously, I had the numerous forms to fill in, but the standard of examination was like entering a different world. It was all state of the art. Dr Soltani made a thorough and detailed investigation. She took me through every step, and explained what she had found, showing me clearly the issues that I had. To be honest I was shocked to find that my teeth were actually not 100% healthy, but relieved that these problems could be addressed. Dr Soltani outlined to me a plan of action that would start with some sessions with the Dental Hygienist. I had a back tooth, with a very large Almagam filling which I knew was causing an allergic reaction in my gum, this needed to be removed. I also had a further tooth that had undergone root canal treatment but had since died and had become infected. This too needed to be extracted. It sounds major but they were taken out very quickly and painlessly by Dr Soltani. She rang me the next day to check that I was alright and that my gums were healing up. Around 10 days later, I went back for the stiches to be removed. You will probably consider that this is the end of my review, but as you can see there are some more words to read. In my late 20s I had a number of crowns fitted that were now starting to wear out. In consultation with Dr Soltani she explained to me what I could have done, which ended up in a full mouth reconstruction. Impressed with her work so far, I decided to go ahead. Little did I know that in a year’s time I too would end up writing a testimonial/review. My wife tells me that I am now happier showing my teeth when I smile. If you are looking for a dentist or considering proposed treatment, then look no further. I wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend the Dental team at the Surbiton Smile Centre to you. Less

When I first walked in the door I was an extremely anxious patient. I Had avoided going to the dentist for over 12 years after a bad experience as a child which left me me a large phobia of dentists. I'd also like to add that I wasn't a big fan of needles either. A few years ago I developed a large crack in one of my teeth and even then I put off going to get it looked at until it got even bigger. At that point I tried to go to an NHS dentist but was too anxious to be treated so was referred to an NHS sedation clinic which was several miles away. After waiting several months, I was then told that I would need to be referred to the hospital as I was too anxious for the sedation clinic. It was at that point I decided to get a second opinion and looked for somewhere local that could offer sedation. From the moment I first called to now, I have found all the staff to be incredibly kind, understanding and patient with me. I saw Simin who took the time to explain all my options and was incredibly sympathetic and understanding. She reassured me as she had expreience in working with anxious patients. As I hadn't been to the dentist in many years, I needed quite a lot of treatment . I was allowed to bring my other half in to sit with me during the first set of treatment to hold my hand and was reassured constantly by both the dentist and the dental nurse. I was able to go through the first set of treatment with gas and air and was even able to cope with the dreaded needle! Because of the time and patience they have given me, although still anxious,I was able to cope with the next set of treatment without any sedation. It has been a process but I'm now a lot less anxious about dentists. Simin has built a relationship of trust with me that I am now able to manage without the really strong fear that I used to feel. I'm very thankful I found this practice and for all the support and staff that have been so good with me. They are all so lovely every time I go in and it's really reassuring to be in caring hands. The Reluctant Implantees My wife and I both embarked on this venture as very reluctant implantees, for many reasons, fear, cost and ambivalence to name just a few. For myself it started when one of my pre molars crumbled away and what was left needed to be extracted. At the time I was offered to have artificial bone implanted in the hole, as it would save time and money in the future should I need an implant. I declined because I thought it expensive and I could manage without one tooth. Simin told me I had about 6 months to think about it before the jawbone started to shrink and it would make the job more difficult in the future. I still declined. However the tooth behind it began to move and twist as it wasn’t supported and was causing me problems with a massive gap between my molars, which filled with foodstuff every time I ate anything. Causing some decay and pain. Move on about a year and another tooth crumbled away and it had to be extracted. This time on the other side of my mouth. Now I had two big gaps to contend with and it was obvious that eating in the future was going to be more difficult. So on this occasion I opted for the artificial bone implant and agreed to see the implant specialist. By this time my wife had been having much trouble with her teeth and was already on the implant trail. She came home with stories of this marvelous German implant specialist (Ingor) that came over to do the work on Simin’s behalf. I saw the specialist and he confirmed that implants were perfectly doable, so the process started. Of course the first thing he had to do was open up the original hole (first tooth loss) and perform a sinus lift and fill the hole with artificial bone. For me this was not too bad. A few gentle taps with mallet and tapered punch did the trick. Sounds awful but quite painless, just a little disconcerting and very expensive for what it is!!!. My wife on the other hand, because she had delayed so long in making the decision to have the implants, had to have a full sinus lift, which turned out to be quite a major operation!!!!! So fearful was she of this it was necessary to have it done under anesthetic, for which it was necessary to bring in a mobile anesthetist. Quite a costly business!!! However she never felt a thing and everything went according to plan. After that it’s quite a simple if not a long-winded process. The screws are put in the jawbone, the holes stitched up and you leave it for a few months to heal and harden. Next visit they put in the pegs and take moulds of your jaws and bite. Then you go back a few times while they make adjustments to make sure that everything is perfect. When satisfied it’s a simple process for the pegs to be put back in the jaw, attach the tooth and back fill the hole where the screw is that holds the tooth in position. When its finished you would never know that there was a false tooth there. Hindsight Science In hindsight I would have the artificial bone implant if I ever have another tooth extracted. Saves sooo much time, money and effort if at a future time you go for the implant. Even if you don’t have the implant, it still supports the jawbone, there’s less shrinkage and helps prevent the teeth on either side from moving or twisting. Any down sides? Not really. I was never in any pain with the process. My wife suffered more pain in her head from fear and aprehension than she did actual discomfort. It is quite costly but probably worth it in the long term. It is quite a long-winded process. What with sinus lifts, waiting for the flesh to heal and the artificial bone to harden, holidays, several visits to have the moulds taken and the final fitting, took us about a year. I would advise anyone going through this process to pay as you go rather than have a big bill at the end. But now I can chew without any pain or discomfort. I had my teeth straightened at Surbiton Smile Centre and now that I have had my braces removed I am extremely pleased with the excellent results. My teeth were very crowded before being straightened and I was initially unsure about how much they could be improved. I also had a problematic bite, which wasn't ideal for eating. After a consultation with the knowledgeable team at Surbiton Smile Centre I was confident that having braces fitted was the right decision to improve my smile and bite. I chose the ceramic white braces and found them to be relatively discreet and unproblematic. I also chose to pay upfront, which meant that I got a discount; it also meant that everything including the braces, retainers, adjustments and even emergency repairs were all covered in one payment. During the entire 17 months that the braces were in place I had no problems at all, but was confident that if I did have any problems that they would be handled with quickly and professionally. Now that I have had my braces removed I am so much more confident with my smile and with my oral health in general. My family and friends have commented on my fantastic new teeth and one of my colleagues also decided to opt for orthodontic treatment at Surbiton Smile Centre because I told him of my positive experience. Recently I have visited Surbiton Smile Centre, for the first time for a check up where I had the opportunity to tell Dr Simin about a wisdom tooth I had which was bothering me a lot. Dr Simin told me she had the right skills to have the procedure carried out safely and that if I wanted I could book an appointment so she could have a go on it. I came back a week later, Dr Simin had safely removed my tooth. The procedure was very smooth and I felt very comfortable throughout the whole process. it has now been a few weeks and I feel much better. I was 48 years of age and had neglected my dental health. I had teeth missing, inflamed and receding gums and bad breath, so I did my research and found the team at Surbiton Smile Centre. I first meet their Orthodontist, Theo, who suggested braces. 48 years of age seemed too old for me to have braces but I thought I've got a few more good years in me yet and I want to have a nice smile. Theo was wonderful; he moved my teeth so I only needed the one implant, saving me the cost of two implants. Next I meet Simi the Dentist who didn't want to put an implant in until my gums had settled and my teeth were all alined. Her plan was to heal my whole mouth so as not to rush the process and end up with problems in a couple of years. With having missing teeth, my gums and jaw had receded and the the task of fitting an implant was a difficult one. Simi went above and beyond what I expected. The result is amazing., she worked her magic and I have a natural looking implant. Lastly I meet with Wendy the Hygenist who did a fantatsic job cleaning my teeth and gums. My gums are no longer inflamed and have stopped receding. Bad breath is also no longer problem for me. Overall, the whole procedure took 18 months. I'm so happy with the results. After examining the problem we agreed I would remove my tooth the following day, I told the lady I needed some sort of sedation to get me through this process and I was advised Valium and "Laughing Gas". I can safely say this was the most amazing experience, I laughed the whole way through the procedure and could not believe it was over. The gas can take a while to kick in until you allow yourself to relax. But the whole process has actually made me want to come back and sort out other decaying teeth (booked back in for next week). I visited about 4 orthodontists to gain their opinion, and Theo at the Smile Centre was really helpful when I told him my requirements, and most importantly my deadline! He recommended clear Damon Braces which weren't too obtrusive, and did the job in half the time that some other treatments would have done. I felt he listened to what I wanted and recommended what was needed rather than the most expensive option (which happened with some other orthodontists!) 9 months later the braces are off, I've had no issues and the treatment has been straight forward. Theo was professional throughout and kept me up to date and fully informed at each stage, keeping us on track for my date target.
