They have been wonderful! They have great teachers and a great staff that works with us to schedule and reschedule when possible. So much care goes into this school and I'm so glad we found it. Thanks for all you do to bring music into our life!

My daughter started in the summer teen choir with one fabulous teacher and 4-5 students. By the fourth class, there were two students left but only she was present. Then I received a call from the owner telling me the teacher had given notice (okay, lives change) and that only two students remain in the class. Option 1 was to join the adult choir with Thursday evening practices; Option 2 was to continue with the two students and a new teacher. After saying we’d do Option 2 (my daughter is in two musical theatre shows this summer with evening rehearsals), I was told the lessons would be the same price but for only 30 minutes because of the smaller class/more individualized attention. 40 minutes of driving (30 each way) for 30 minutes of learning makes no sense. Since I explained this is NOT stated anywhere, the owner agreed to continue the full hour. Before agreeing to anything, I wanted to ask my daughter. After ensuring the other student would be able to continue in the adult choir, she opted to discontinue completely. I tried to allow my daughter the option to say thank you to the teacher via a phone call, but I was told the teacher cannot be given my number to call me back between classes for privacy reasons. When I asked if I could call right before the teen choir time when the teacher is waiting in the lobby for her students, I was told that also cannot happen.We will forever be done with Bartell’s Music Academy. It was meant to be a positive but learning opportunity for my daughter, and now my daughter with autism gets zero closure and not much in the way of learning after a month. Be sure to read the fine, fine print if you go, and assume every class is both your first and your last if you have a child with any sort of mental health disabilities.

This is a wonderful place for a kid to learn. We have been very happy with fiddle and voice lessons and the community of families here. Give it a shot; you will be happy too.

My daughter has been coming here for a few months now and we absolutely love it! We did a few of the music kickstart programs, which allowed her to get a good feel for what she wanted to play. We are now doing two instruments with them! All the teachers we’ve met are wonderful and she leaves every lesson excited! The office management is also extremely friendly, and easy to work with if I have questions or schedule concerns!(:
