This place was a bit confusing to us at first.We were in the middle of a coast-to-coast drive and felt like we needed a couple days of rest, and Chat recommended Hermann Hills. It was like finding a little oasis for us after night after night of chain hotels in big cities. Here's what confused us but makes perfect sense now: it's a wedding venue that also has onsite cottages. Given our situation, and that we stayed mid-week, it felt like we had a hundred acres just to ourselves. Not the slightest concern of safety. Never saw another guest. I'd describe the cottages as, "AirBnB feel but with a stocked fridge and morning breakfast."The cottage had a view of the river, outdoor hot tub, jetted tub, outdoor and indoor fireplace, full kitchen, and two big TVs. I'd guess the square footage at around 600-700. It's not the Ritz, but it's clean and extremely comfortable. And, in the middle of nowhere, it's awesome to find a place like this.Only thing to note is the train. It passes about every two hours about 100 ft below the cottages. It's very loud for about 30 seconds each passing.Still, I recommend without hesitation!

Long review warning! I had my wedding here November 8th 2025 and this review is late but better late than never! I toured multiple venues and other wineries but none were as kind and welcoming as the staff at Hermann Hill. This was actually the first venue we toured and as soon as we arrived we felt like royalty. We were greeted with Mimosas, toured the property(with the exception of the bridal suite as a bride was currently in there getting ready for her wedding that day) and were sat down and given the package options with much more precise pricing than any other venue could give on the initial tour. During this time the venue's chef Craig came and introduced himself and provided us with an appetizer. I also really liked the multiple ceremony options the venue offered. We ended up using the River Bluff for the main ceremony and I used the beautiful chapel to have a first look with my Dad. After booking (we chose the ultimate gold package)we had an initial planning session about 10 months out with Becki and Teckla and made the rough timeline of the day, which was updated as we booked other vendors and fine tuned the details. About 6 months out we were assigned Donna as our lead coordinator. She was who we mainly communicated with from then on. She reached out to us along the way offering help and advice, and reached out to our vendors to confirm details. She was literally so amazing! The day of could not have been what it was without Donna, she was by my side all day and made sure everything went accordingly. Even 3 days after the wedding, I realized I had forgot to assign a bridal party or family member to collect the cake stand I had rented( I had to have it returned by Friday and herman hill is an hour and 40 minutes from where I live and didn't know when I was going to have the time to go back for it) I texted Donna and she not only located it but was able to have it returned to the bakery I rented it from. Still going above and beyond for me days later! The honeymoon cottage that was included in the package was amazing. Full kitchen, fireplace, steam shower, and balcony with hot tub and view of the river was just perfect. The wedding night they had our fridge stocked with leftover wedding food and cake. Another perk is that they are a dog friendly venue and we were so happy to have been able to include our dog in the wedding day festivities. They even have a dog biscuit bar set up so guests can take doggy bags of treats home to their furry friends. It's now 8 months since my wedding day and I am still hearing rave reviews from all my wedding guests about how beautiful the venue and location were, as well as the amazing service provided by staff there. All in all, if you are looking for a dog friendly wedding venue with multiple package options with stunning views then Hermann Hill is for you!

Absolutely a TOP Notch place to stay. The view from the deck and from the property were amazing as well as the cottage that we stayed at. Would 100% recommend and we will definitely come back for another stay
