My Aunt and Uncle had damage and water leaks from hurricane Helene and Milton. When they tried to put in a claim with their insurance company (Universal property & casualty insurance) the adjuster came out, but he lied and said that there was no damage to the roof. My Aunt and Uncle have been loyal customers and have been highly overcharged for years and this is how they treat their customers!We contacted Eddrian and his team came out to find damaged and missing shingles! They also did a moisture test inside of the home which showed damage! They covered the roof with tarp to keep further damage from happening until the issue was resolved. The took plenty of pictures and video of the damage for proof. The Insurance company still didn't want to take claim to any damage, so Eddrian helped us take it a step further to get a lawyer involved. Also, Eddrian will answer your calls and explain the process to you thoroughly. It took a little longer than we hoped, but the end result was that my Aunt and Uncle will get reimbursed for their damages and will be able to get a new roof at the cost of the insurance agency! I engaged Defender Loss Consultants several years ago for an insurance claim and have been deeply disappointed with the ongoing experience.The process for settling their fees has been unnecessarily complicated and significantly prolonged.The company managed to settle only $14,000, which is significantly less than the actual cost of the roof replacement.Despite this, they insisted on receiving a personal check of $2,800 for their 20% commission before I could access and confirm the clearance of the insurance funds.This condition has created an ongoing impasse; to this day, I have not received my settlement money because they refuse to send me the payment unless I send the commission first. This approach not only caused undue stress but also seemed insecure, as typically, the consultant's fee is deducted directly from the settlement check, ensuring transparency and trust.Due to these protracted issues, I am now seeking legal assistance to help resolve this situation and secure the funds rightfully owed to me.Their policy might not align with industry standards, where client security and satisfaction should be paramount.I hope this review helps others to be cautious and to seek clear, upfront agreements with any firm handling sensitive financial transactions.
