In short---I loved working with Gerard Rene Jewelers. 11/10, would recommend.I'm new to fine jewelry buying, and have been deep-diving on reddit threads for months in preparation for my and my girlfriend's inevitable ring purchases. My experience with Gerard Rene made me feel like I could entrust them with making a quality product that will stand the test of time, all while delivering a positive buying experience. I have nothing but positive associations with my ring because the ring creating and ring buying process with them was so easy and so great. I'm so glad that I am unable to add a post to the negative ring buying experiences threads on Reddit.Valdine was who helped me from start to finish on my purchase. I loved working with her so much that my girlfriend and I decided to next have Gerard Rene design my girlfriend's (soon to be fiancée's) engagement ring.In long---I connected with them on instagram because I was looking at enhancing an heirloom engagement ring I wanted to use for my engagement ring. Valdine was responsive, attentive to detail (both in quality of craftsmanship and meeting my personal needs with the piece), knowledgable, and understanding of the educational and emotional rollercoaster that is ring-buying. She answered so many basic and intricate questions I had with timeliness, ease, and empathy. I didn't feel bogged down by jargon industry terms- she was always able to explain things clearly and simply. I learned a lot through our emails and texts! She helped me figure out what metals, stones, etc., were the best for me to purchase, and I never felt like she was trying to upsell me.After deciding that I ended up not wanting to reset my heirloom (my late aunt's engagement ring, circa 1930s), we creating a ring that'd sit below my eventual heirloom engagement ring in a ring "stack." Which worked out- my girlfriend has had a promise ring for a bit and I recently started also wanting one, so this new ring would then serve as my promise ring. The design for my promise ring nods to my aunt's original wedding band, while also incorporating my girlfriend's birth stone (emerald). The piece was priced reasonably, the final product was ready before I expected it to be, the ring fits perfectly with the intended engagement ring, and I could not be happier. I had the ring examined by a local jeweler shortly after I got it and they said the craftsmanship was great, so I'm now able to just enjoy wearing my ring.If you are a ring novice or a ring pro, this is a great company to help you out. I never thought I'd be one to say "I have a jeweler," but here I am, saying that my "I have a jeweler" is Gerard Rene.
