I drove all the way from Chicago to El Kubo in Elgin today to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday. We had heard that their food was good—but it turns out it's absolutely delicious! Marshall, our waiter, provided excellent service; the only downside was the bartender, who really needs to tone down their attitude. They don't need to be so rude, because while I—as a customer—respect everyone, I also deserve to be treated with respect. P.S. The chef is truly top-notch.

My brother and I decided to try this spot as we were in the area. Wow this food was delicious! We also had an appetizer and 5 different rolls between both of us, all excellent! The service was also great, our server was very friendly and attentive. 10/10 would come back again!

Kubo Sushi has not only the tastiest food and the best sushi, but they also provide truly top-quality service. I recently placed a large order for our office lunch, and they absolutely did not disappoint. They made sure everything looked perfect and took the time to listen to all of our requests—from the types of sushi we wanted to how we preferred the platters to be arranged.When we placed the order on the office kitchen table, I didn’t even manage to take a proper picture because everyone immediately gathered around and started grabbing the sushi. Everything looked so beautiful and tasted even better. The entire office was happy, and people kept complimenting how fresh and delicious the sushi was.Thank you, Kubo Sushi, for making our office lunch such a success. We’ll definitely be ordering again! 🍣✨

01/27/26 update:In my opinion, it's the best sushi in Elgin and if I was a millionaire, I'd be eating here on a daily basis.Had their pork belly tonkatsu ramen. It was everything the doctor ordered and more. This is food for the soul and the stomach just so happens to enjoy it too.Great service. Stefy was so wonderful and even challenged me to try the ramen spicy. I took her advice and it made the dish much more delicious.To the Chefs: thank you so much for an incredible meal.
